Your host is a jazz guitarist that plays on occasion in the restaurant. Local nightlife includes the nearby Tortoise Rock Casino. Monthly star gazing events are hosted at the 29 Palms Observatory. This home has great access to the area from Vegas, Los Angeles, and is also close to Palm Springs. It is a 2 minute drive to the Joshua Tree Park "Oasis" visitor center, and a 4 minute drive into downtown 29 Palms. For park visitors, the visitor center offers guided tours and transportation. Marine Base visitors will drive approximately 10 minutes to the gates. Although the California desert is generally a dry environment, heavier rainy seasons may bring about more abundant than usual wildlife. This includes cute little native inhabitants such as humming birds, quail, road runners, jack rabbits, and cotton tail bunnies…. as well as….coyotes, insects, spiders, lizards, snakes, and moths. As such, we advise to keep all non-screened windows and doors closed if you are uncomfortable with uninvited nature guests. If you find yourself surrounded, please do not hesitate to call for assistance. There is one camera on the property that monitors access to the parking area and front entry area. Some areas of this property are still under construction and off limits, which will not affect the quality of your stay.
