Features include an ensuite bathroom with shower, small table and chair, king-size memory foam bed, mini-fridge and microwave. It is located on our second floor so you will need to climb a flight of stairs. OUR HOUSE Our house is not a typical 'AIRBNB' but closer to a big house with a European hostel vibe. In fact, traveling and staying in hostels in southern Spain is how we started our relationship, and this inspired us to create a space like this of our own. We have made many friends while traveling and staying in this type of shared living space and we love it. :) With that being said, this is not for everyone. THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU IF: * You like staying in a “European Hostel” style place. We met and fell in love while road tripping and hostelling through Europe and it’s been a goal of ours to recreate that type of place here in Detroit! * You want to make new friends and socialize with people from around the world. * You don’t mind that some space is shared. As you enter our home you'll see that our ground floor is mostly a shared space which includes our large commercial kitchen, living room, and dining area. Guests are free to use this shared space during their stay but we ask that they wear masks, practice social distancing, and reserve the kitchen beforehand so we can limit the number of people who are in the space at any given time. THIS PLACE MIGHT NOT BE FOR YOU IF: * You’re looking for a traditional “bed & breakfast” or hotel / motel. This is not the style of our place. * You expect a “full service” experience. Our household is all about self-sufficiency and we expect guests to check themselves in and get in touch with us if there’s anything they need. IMPORTANT: When you book, we ask ALL guests to do the following: 1. Introduce yourself (where you are from and what brings you here). 2. Read through all details about our HOUSE & view all details + photos of the room you are interested in. 3. Confirm you will follow all HOUSE RULES during your stay. We ONLY ACCEPT booking requests that complete the above-required steps. Thank you! Guest access Guests can access their room and the shared hallways, bathrooms, kitchen, living room and outdoor hang-out area. The rest of the home is off-limits. Other things to note PLEASE GO THROUGH THE PICTURES BEFORE YOU INQUIRE We want to make sure you know what to expect. Our goal is to provide an affordable, cozy and clean accommodation so visitors can make the most of their trip to Detroit. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING OUR PROJECT Renovating and maintaining an old house like this is very expensive. All the revenue we earn from your stay goes right back into funding this project which means your support is contributing to the exciting recovery of our house and our wonderful city! Although parts of our home are still undergoing renovation, your room and most of the interior of the home have already been fully renovated. BATHROOMS Your room features a private bathroom. There is also a shared shower room and multiple shared restrooms on the ground floor. LAUNDRY Paid laundry is available on the ground floor for $2/ wash and $2/ dry. PARKING Free street parking is available on all streets around the house. In general, parking is safe here but for anyone parking in Detroit (no matter where you are in the city), we recommend using a CLUB steering wheel lock which we have available to rent for $1/ day. PACKAGES AND MAIL DELIVERY Please do not send anything to our house without our consent. We are not responsible for receiving, lost, or undelivered mail/packages.
