A little slice of secluded, quiet heaven on a lake. 2 adults + 2 free-range bulldogs + 8 cuddly cats are eager to meet you. You'll have your own separate entrance and a clean, quiet, private room with a queen bed + bathroom in a shared home. Healthy snacks and coffee provided. Close to I-70, RHIT, ISU, SMWC, downtown Terre Haute, Griffin Bike Park, and an hour's drive to the IND airport. we are not set up to accommodate more than two adults or *your* pets, sorry! Modern country living, on a lake, in the woods, off a dirt road, in a house. Close to ISU and RHIT. Relax by the lake, explore our wooded trail, or go mountain biking at nearby Griffin Bike Park. Healthy snacks and coffee provided. 2 adults, two free-range bulldogs and 8 cats live here - all very friendly. You will be downstairs in the guest room with your own separate, private entrance, private bathroom (not connected to the bedroom, but adjacent, so you will need to leave the bedroom to get to the bathroom). The bathroom has a steam shower (ask for instructions)! You will have access to your two rooms, the yard (including a nature trail), deck and lakeside docks but NOT the rest of the house, including the kitchen - sorry. Note: host (quietly) works from home and her office is next to the guest room. Note: this is NOT a fully furnished apartment - it is a bedroom (with microwave and fridge) and bathroom only. there is a table with umbrella and chairs set outside on the patio for your use. there is no place indoors to dine comfortably. we work from home and are available should you need anything. you will have your own separate entrance to your bedroom and bathroom. expect to have curious cats and a dog visit you (of course you can shut your door if it gets to be too much!). Woods and lakes on a gravel road. Lots of great parks around here, would be happy to recommend. Restaurants nearby include Moggers (casual burgers, beer and more in a cool old restored building, downtown); Umi Grill (Japanese), Wise Pies (pizza), Federal Coffee (beautiful new coffee shop with bakery & yummy lunch options, downtown), Bar Bosco / Alimentari Da Pesavento (great Italian), and Terre Haute Brewing Co (near Moggers); Piloni's (casual Italian); Ferm Fresh (kombucha cafe). Walmart, Meijer and Aldi, various fast-food restaurants and dozens of other stores are a short drive away. We're about 7 miles from downtown Terre Haute, Griffin Bike Park, Indiana State University, and 5 miles from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. We're about 3 miles from Exit 11 off I-70. * We typically do not accept guests without Airbnb profiles and/or prior guest reviews. This is because we are welcoming strangers into our home, and we must know something about you. There is a also a fan (if you are warm) and a space heater (if you are cold) in the closet in your room • Violet the bulldog gets excited to meet new people, and may bark a lot when you arrive. don't be scared! she just wants to say hello and be petted (a lot). If it gets to be too much, let us know • We'll provide healthy snacks + coffee in your room (French press- style) • this IS the place for you if you love the outdoors, nature, and friendly pets • There's a nature trail for hiking on our property • We welcome mountain bikers, ISU/RHIT students and their families, travelers seeking an alternative place to stay as they drive by on Rt 70, visitors heading to and from the IND airport, or anybody seeking a quiet hotel alternative! • we do not accommodate children, your pets, or more than two adults . there is only parking space available for one vehicle
