The Emerald Forrest Swamp Cabin
Description
The cabin is situated on cypress wetlands. The view from the windows is like waking up in the Emerald Forest. The king sized bed is very comfortable and the large tub is beautiful and absolutely luxurious! Perfect for long bubble baths or epsom salt bath soaks for detoxing and soaking away aches. The cabin is beautiful and is ideal for nature lovers, artists, writers, or anyone needing a relaxing get away. The space The Swamp Cabin is a beautiful cozy cabin. Big windows overlook a beautiful cypress swamp. Lounge in a large claw foot tub while enjoying the view. Or enjoy the rocking chairs on the screened porch overlooking the swamp. The bathroom has a two seat shower. Fenced and gated at the street. Convenience and privacy - the best of both worlds! The cypress swamp separates this property from the Oconee River which is visible through the swamp at times. I designed this cabin for three purposes: 1. I was planning to give macrobiotic cooking lessons there. 2. I also planned to do massage therapy there. 3. We also, originally, planned to use it as a personal weekend get away simply to relax and cook out, and get together with family and friends. As I had in mind having cooking classes there, I had the gas stove top in the counter so that people could belly up to the counter and watch their food being cooked; therefore, I cook facing the room and the beautiful view of the swamp. The porcelain terra-cotta tile on the floors coordinates with the tile on the counter tops. The walls and ceiling are natural wood. No sheetrock! I had a "swamp spa" in mind when I added a large claw foot tub installed right in the big room. It is only one room except for the bathroom and a large closet. There is a kingsize bed, a sofa and upholstered chair, a large claw foot tub, a kitchen, and a TV/DVD player in the one, very spacious room. It also has internet. It is approximately three miles from Buzzy's a convenience store that sells gas as well as a hot buffet style breakfast and lunch on most days. It is also approximately seven miles from Benton Lee's Steakhouse on the Altamaha River. A number of celebrities have visited the restaurant and they frequently have tour busses come bringing tourists from Savannah, etc. The neighborhood is rural. The roads are paved. The neighbors are friendly and usually quiet. The public boat ramp is right down the road. The property is next to wooded lots that I also purchased to ensure privacy. There is a concrete slab where a cookhouse once stood. It now has a fire pit and there is a gas grill on the screened porch. Guest access You will have use of the entire cabin and yard located on the wetlands.
