Gears Efficiency Suite in Machias Village

"Gears" is our newest addition to short term rentals in the Machias area. It was created to offer a less expensive alternative to furnished apartments for professionals who appreciate beauty, class, and quality but are on a budget. Exquisitely designed and decorated, it encapsulates the many workings that make this area rich and diversified. The space This unit is a tribute to certain "gears" of industry and culture in this area, that keep our local community going strong; the fishing, lobstering, potato ,and blueberry industries, We even have actual antique wooden gears from Eastport's mustard factory, items from the salmon industry, etc. We in Maine have a proud heritage of hard work and innovation. The Machias and surrounding area is steeped in rich history and is abundant in breathtaking natural beauty. This efficiency unit is a cozy one of a kind accommodation that is beautifully furnished and decorated, providing essentials one would need for daily living. We provide paper goods, (T.P. and P.T.) bed linens, blankets, towels, private efficiency kitchen includes efficiency fridge, toaster oven, micro wave, coffee pot, stove top burners, pots, pans, eating utensils and cooking utensils. Private 3/4 bath, and private entrance through private sunroom. You also have access to a shared space that includes coin-op laundry facility, and outdoor sitting areas. We provide weekly light housekeeping (clean the bathroom, wash sheets and towels, take out the trash, dust, etc. and keep up on any necessary maintenance) and added little touches that make your stay a more pleasant one. There are many garden areas in a beautifully landscaped yard, hammock, and hammock swings, large deck with garden benches, cushioned chairs and tables to sit at. Off road parking. Nice neighborhood. Rent is $36 per night for stays of three months or over. Anything less than three months is $39per night. Minimum of one month stay (Occasionally I can do shorter stays, in which case, anything less than a month is at $49 per night rate). Maximum 6 months. Anything over that we are willing to discuss options with you. Other things to note Due to the very high heating cost during Maine's winters, there is a heating surcharge. The surcharge is $100 per month from Oct-April. This is just a fraction of the heating cost, but I have to charge it to help offset the higher cost of all the utilities in the winter months. I also require a $700 security deposit, which will need to be paid directly to me before you can take occupancy. Even though Airbnb says they insure you, they don't really cover everything so I do require a security deposit. Of course, if there is no damage to the unit, or fees incurred, the security deposit is refundable.
