What guests love about staying at Dorset Hill Cottage: Beautiful, unobstructed views of the Green Mountains; quiet country road; walking, hiking and snowshoeing, right out your door; total privacy; cozy, yet fully up-dated, cottage. Originally a rustic one bedroom cottage, it was recently completely renovated. The large living room/dining area now includes a queen bed alcove. This allows for direct access to the deck through sliding glass doors, with a full view of the mountains; perfect for watching TV, and/or having a fire in the fireplace, all while relaxing on the couch, or in bed! The bedroom has a single bed, and a crib - quiet for children; ideal for a family. Therefore, our preferred capacity is for 3 adults - or 2 adults with a child and/or a baby. Dorset Hill Cottage is located on our property, which includes: our home, barn, and a putting green w/chipping areas, all on 3.3 acres. We will greet you upon arrival; provide you with a walk- through; and answer any questions or requests. Dorset Hill Road is a beautiful, quiet, country road. You have access right out your door to walking and hiking - to local caves, quarries, and ponds - as well as for x-county skiing and snow shoeing in the winter. From the east- facing deck, you have a clear vista of the Green Mountains and can enjoy a large, lovely lawn. You will need a car, however everything is close by. The East Dorset General Store is just down the hill. Shopping, restaurants, and theater are just 7 miles to Manchester and Dorset. Bromley Mt. Ski Center is a 15 minute drive, Stratton Mt. Resort is 30 minutes away; Magic Mt. Ski Center is 30 minutes drive; and Wild Wings x-country ski area is 25 minutes drive. The Manchester area is host to: the VT Summer Horse Show; the Southern VT Arts Center; Hildene; numerous shopping outlets and restaurants: Bromley Summer Thrill Zone; Bromley Ski Center and Stratton Mt. Resort; Taylor Farm, for hayrides and farm animals; two nearby locations of the Vermont Country Store; Emerald Lake for swimming and boating; the Manchester recreation center outdoor pool; and numerous hiking trails. Dorset hosts the Dorset Theater Playhouse, the Dorset Quarry, and many quaint inns. New generator on premises (for both cottage and house) The cottage surrounding area is perfect of walks, hikes, relaxing on the deck, picnics on the lawn, and golf putting and chipping - as well as having its own private driveway for your car, and easy trips to Manchester and Dorset (both just 7 minutes away.) Ski Center is a 20 minute drive, and Stratton Mt. Resort is 35 minutes away. We closed the cottage for November, December, and half of January, in 2021/22, to renovate the kitchen.
