Ak Villa-Only Beachfront Villa Akumal Bay

VILLA AK – AK meaning turtle in Maya – is the only boutique beachfront villa on the main bay in Akumal where snorkeling amongst the sea turtles is a spectacle to witness. With 6 bedrooms and 6 ½ baths it sleeps 13 people very comfortably. The lush tropical gardens adorn the walled in property making it very safe and private. Located walking distance to restaurants and shops and only 20 steps to water’s edge, makes this villa the perfect getaway. The space The entry into this walled estate is lined with huge palms. There is a 3 car covered garage and on top 2 of the 6 bedrooms are located in this detached guest house. This is a perfect place to keep the teenagers!! When you arrive you'll walk up a sweeping curved stairway and enter through huge carved doors with stained glass windows on either side. You will immediately notice the incredible 30-foot cathedral ceiling, carved stone walls, indirect lighting and unbelievable sweeping view of Akumal Bay. The kitchen is immense, has a domed brick ceiling, is fully equipped and has a kitchen Island and it even has a wet bar that passes through to the living room! There's a great powder room and the living room couches are decked out in tiger print fabric with lots of cushions. There are two large air-conditioned guest bedrooms downstairs with high ceilings, walk in closets, king-size beds and huge bathrooms. One of these bedrooms has a completely separate entrance, for extra privacy! You reach the immense and very dramatic master bedroom upstairs by ascending a spiral wooden staircase. The first thing you'll see is the canopied teak king-size bed in front of a carved stone wall. It has a wraparound covered balcony where you will want to spend many hours reading and enjoying the constant breeze off of Akumal Bay. The bathroom is actually three rooms: one for the toilet and bidet, one for the two basin main room and another for the double head shower stall. The decor is unique and beautiful with gorgeous tile work. Villa Ak's fourth bedroom is located next to the main house facing the pool. Known as the PRANA BUNGALOW, for its energy flow and peacefulness, the Balinese style of this room will delight. A king size bed and twin bed along with the stoned walled outdoor shower will make you feel like a king. Feel the river stone floor of the outdoor shower massage your feet while under the sun, the moon and the stars. Villa Ak is on an incredible beach and has a gorgeous "lagoon style" swimming pool with Pagoda pool house on the beach side of the villa. There's a pass-through from the kitchen for outdoor entertaining and the entire roof of the villa is an observatory for looking at the stars or watching the spectacular sunrises over Akumal Bay. The villa was designed to enjoy the constant ocean breeze so it has no air conditioning in the living area and the ceilings are so high and there are so many windows that it stays very, very cool. Four bedrooms face the pool area. The main House has 3 bedrooms: one of those is unattached to the dining room area. Access is by the pool. The fourth bedroom is in Prana Bungalow facing the pool as a separate smaller building with an Indoor and outdoor shower Balinese style. The other 2 bedrooms are in the guest house with a second kitchen. All bedrooms have king beds except for one that has a queen bed. Prana bungalow has a single bed and a king bed. All bedrooms have AC and have ensuite full bathrooms.  Please note that Ak Villa is usually not affected by the seaweed situation because of its the position of the Bay that currents favor this spot, making a circular motion that misses this small corner of the Bay.
