Private Studio Apartment with private entrance. Queen-sized bed + sofa bed. Cozy-space w/ big windows in a big home centrally located in the beautiful small town of Pleasantville. 5 min walk to MetroNorth Train to NYC (45 train ride), Pace University, TONS of bars & restaurants, coffee shops, Jacob Burns Film Center, cute shops. One of the best walking towns in Westchester County. Amazing outdoor activities close by. Friendly host nearby in main house for any questions! The space About the Studio Apartment: The private, Studio Apartment has a private entrance from our front porch- the door to the studio is the farthest one on the front porch. NOTE: There are 8 stairs leading up to the porch. There is a brand new Queen-size Sealy Posturepedic mattress. The couch also includes a full-size sofa-bed with an upgraded mattress. The room is lined with windows on two-sides, letting in plenty of natural light. There is also a large mirror, closet space, and a chest for your things. Some house plants and treasures from our travels also give good energy to the room. Some things have been rearranged with time, but the photos are very reflective of what to expect. Feel free to grab a book and get cozy or play some board games located in the small dresser next to the sofa. Note: The house is located up on a hill off of a main road, and there is a parkway nearby. At times, you can hear it from the apartment a bit. It isn't very loud, and it hasn't been a big issue for our guests, but we do want to let you know that it's audible just for full disclosure! Some people like the "hum". In the foliage months, its very quiet. There is a full-bath/shower and a small kitchen with a full-size fridge, 4-burner stove, microwave, coffee pot, kitchen supplies, etc. The kitchen & bathroom do NOT have new appliances, but everything is in good working condition. Studio Includes: - Full Kitchen - Microwave - Coffee Pot - Wireless Internet - Couch - Full Bath - Parking - Front porch - great for your morning coffee :) - Smart TV About the House: The main house + studio is located in Pleasantville, a beautiful small town in Westchester County. The house is full of windows and has a porch in the front for nice people/neighborhood-watching. It sits on the top of a hill off the main road, so walks to town are super quick, nicely paved, and are frequented by many fellow town residents, dog walkers, bikers, etc. This Studio is attached to our family home, but completely private with private entrance. And we are a very welcoming family. You can have as much/little privacy as you'd like...if you need anything, just text us or knock on the main house door. Otherwise, we respect your privacy. On occasion, a family member may use the front porch, but if there is ever an issue with this, please do not hesitate to let me know! Guest access You will have keys to the Studio (left for you by host prior to arrival). If you are coming by car, you can also park in the driveway. There is a free space on the rocks near the grey shed - we just ask that you park as close to the grey shed as possible so as not to block the driveway from other vehicles coming in and out of the garage. Other things to note Open to discussing pets. No smoking or use of any illegal substances of any kind on the premises. If smoking cigarettes, please go to the bottom of the hill on the sidewalk. We ask this so as smoke will carry through windows of the house and we sometimes have the grandchildren around. THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA: - Jacob Burns Film Center (people come from all over the county to see great films and documentaries - 5 min walk) - plenty of hiking (rockwood park along the hudson river, graham hills & rockefeller park) both 5-7 min drive - Opperman's pond (walking distance down the streets) - handful of really great bars and restaurants (all kinds of food) in walking distance in Pleasantville - coffee shops (dunkin donuts - 2 min walk), starbucks and local coffee shops - pleasantville train station (7 min walk) - Roselle Playground (for kids) - Holy Innocents Church (7 min)
