1800s Home on Indiana's Historic National Road
Our place is close to Downtown Greenfield (famous for James Whitcomb Riley) and Knightstown (famous for the movie Hoosiers and the antique stores). Our home dates back to 1838, and possibly to 1790s when it was a stagecoach inn off the National Road. Our place is good for solo adventurers, business travelers, and pets. The space We took a decrepit historical house and made it into something our own with the skills of our creative carpenter. Guest access Access to all parts of the house. The dining room, kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, living room are all on the bottom level of the house. During your stay If we're here, we'll be around. I've had guests stay while we were out of town, and I've had guests that partied with us when we were here with friends. We've had dogs, motorcycles, major band equipment, and an entire band sleep here once. Other things to note Since our house sits on U.S. 40, it can be noisy for people not used to road noise. We have one indoor-outdoor cat. There is no air conditioning, no central air.
