A quiet haven in the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains, Sadie's Place borders the Blue Ridge Parkway, just steps from the Mountain-to-Sea Trail, kayaking and fishing. Nearby you can find great wineries, shops and restaurants in West Jefferson. Our guests love the cozy atmosphere and well-equipped kitchen. We have great outdoor space with a fire pit, covered porch, hammock and beautiful stream. Sunset views! Great for a group, family or couple. Many enjoy family celebrations here. The space This is a 1930's Sears Kit House. Delivered by rail and assembled on site. A beautiful, sparkling stream runs the entire front of the property, We back up to the woods of the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is an amazing sunset view from the covered porch. Lots of old fashioned rockers, a hammock swings from the old oak trees. The kitchen is a fun place to cook with a window looking out toward a pasture and always birds at the feeder. Upstairs is large converted attic with a queen and single. Downstairs has one bedroom with queen bed and futon chair that can become a neat bed for a toddler. Living Room has Samsung SmartTV. Living room couch makes an unusually comfortable single bed if needed. The "Big Room" is the main indoor gathering space. Large wood table seats 12. Rockers by the wood stove. Double and bunk beds are great for sleeping by night and reading or napping by day. Additional kitchen cabinets and counters makes feeding a crowd a breeze. Large deck and terrace. An older home. We're not fancy, just comfy and fun. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house, laundry room and large outdoor space. Guests with dogs must keep dogs on our property unless on a leash. Other things to note There is a wood stove in the big room and a fire pit on the terrace. We will provide enough wood for the first night of your stay. Please bring additional wood if you really enjoy having a fire each day/evening. It's also fun to gather sticks and small branches from the property as you hike. We have a guest book with information about the house and property as well as maps, menus, and suggestions for activities nearby. This is a family friendly home. Lots of games, books and puzzles to enjoy.
