We call this space we are renting the "barn apartment". The building looks like a big red barn from the outside however it has never been used as a barn, only built to look like one. The apartment is on the 3rd floor of the building. It is nestled in a clearing of 5 acres surrounded by trees and with a small apple orchard. The apartment is fully furnished. The barn building is located on 54 acres of land so it is a quiet, peaceful, and beautiful short or long term retreat. We are conveniently located a 1/2 mile walk from Square Lake Beach. Square Lake Beach hosts many biathlons and triathlons as well as has a beautiful sand beach and has full-time lifeguards in the Summer. Our roads are loved by bicyclists and motorcyclists throughout the Spring and Summer months. We are a 15 minute drive into downtown Stillwater and the beautiful St. Croix River. We are a 30 minute drive into downtown Hudson, just across the St. Croix River in Wisconsin. The city of St. Paul is a 45 minute drive and the city of Minneapolis is a 55 minute drive away for a fun night out or day trip. Guests will rent the entire apartment on the 3rd floor. We live on the property. We have a shared driveway up to a T in the driveway. Our house is on the left and the barn apartment is on the right. We are available via phone call or text anytime and a short walk down the drive. It is quiet and peaceful here. It is in the country! You will see wildlife and hear the birds chirping and singing! Occasionally you can hear kids playing and life guards talking over the bullhorns at Square Lake Beach that is just a 1/2 mile away in the summer. Our roads are perfect for bike riding and biathlons and triathlons are held here starting at Square Lake. You will need a car to get around. The nearest country grocery store is 7 minutes away by car in Marine on St. Croix. Downtown Stillwater is just a 15 minute drive and larger grocery stores and a Target and Walmart are a 20 minute drive. Our driveway is long and curves quiet a bit. It can be intense in the wintertime. We do sugges that you have good all season tires and preferably all wheel drive if not a 4-wheel drive vehicle. A two wheel drive car does not do well on our driveway in the winter months. We plow our driveway ourselves and we do salt and sand quite a bit, we drive up and down our driveway too so we do our best to keep it clear. We do request our renters to keep their short drive and parking area cleared for themselves and their outdoor steps to the apartment cleared off.
