The Amberley Annex is a perfect retreat tucked away at the foot of the mountain. It is walking distance from the hustle and bustle of Surfers Corner, shops , restaurants and Muizenberg Station, yet peaceful and private.This sunny, self-contained studio is entirely separate from the main house, with a kitchenette, work area & free uncapped Fibre (35 up/25 down) making it perfect for digital nomads . Wooden sliding doors open onto a small deck, surrounded by a wonderful, aromatic garden. The space The sunny open-plan space has its own bathroom with shower & private sunny deck. The comfy double bed has a Cloud 9 mattress. Fall asleep with the sound of the sea and wake up with birdsong! The kitchenette is equipped with a fridge, microwave, electric frying pan, induction plate, kettle, toaster & coffee plunger as well as everything you need to prepare light meals. A vacuum flask and portable gas plate save the day when there is loadshedding! Barbeque facilities are also available. Sun and surf, quaint restaurants, shops and the best bakeries are all an easy walk away! You can also hop on the train at Muizenberg Station which is less than 100m from here.The train is very convenient, safe and affordable. The route to Simonstown is scenic, with the railway line all along the coast and it is definitely the most relaxing and cheapest way to Cape Town! Relax with coffee or wine on the deck or work from your office in the garden! Free uncapped and uninterrupted broadband WiFi - download /upload speed is 45 mbps - is available. The property is secured with a state of the art security system & electric fence for your peace of mind including electronic access control. The Annex also has it's own security system & a safe suitable for lap tops and other valuables. Guest access Guests can enjoy the lovely, sheltered garden. Relax with a book under the tree, do yoga or soak up the sun on the green lawn. The deck is the perfect place for early morning coffee with homemade rusks or a truly South African barbeque (braai). Other things to note We're at the end of a cul-de-sac, a short walk from the end of the road. Only street parking is available. Unfortunately South Africa has loadshedding from time to time.(But touch wood, we didn't have loadshedding for over 300 days!) It is less severe in Cape Town, thanks to the Steenbras pumped-storage hydroelectricity system which supplements Cape Town's electricity needs during periods of peak demand. You will however have uninterrupted Wifi during loadshedding.We provided rechargeable lights and a gas plate as well. We are always saving our precious water and electricity!
