Beautiful Victorian inspired farmhouse on historic family farm. The farm has been in our family since 1838 !! Furnishings reflect original artwork and unique collections from our life living on four continents. Jim and l are in residence in the back part of the house. I will greet you upon arrival and make sure you are settled !! .Our house can accommodate large groups - but as per Airbnb rules only paid guests are allowed to stay. If you come with unbooked guests you may be turned away. Furnishings reflect years of global living. Four bedrooms on second floor featuring themed decor and handmade quilts. 1. Far East bedroom with queen bed & adjacent bath. 2. Thai bedroom (small) with 2 twin beds shares bath with Far East bedroom. 3. New Zealand bedroom with king bed and shared jack & jill bath. 4. Middle Eastern room with king bed & shared jack & jill bath. Robes provided for three main bedrooms. (2 Pack and plays available upon request.) Bunk Room is on OPPOSITE side of the house from the "adult" bedrooms ... 3 bunk beds plus one day bed; 1 twin bed.....toys and TV/ VCR also in this room ...... STAIRS ... you must watch small children !! No elevator for bedrooms ! Second floor gathering room features flat screen TV with Direct network and futon that can be used for another bed. Living room/dining room features dining for 10 (you can squeeze 12 in ) and Baby Grand piano. Second family room on first floor open to kitchen and large inground seasonal pool. Pool towels are provided. Bath opens into pool/patio area which has a gas grill available for your use. Lots of places to relax outside (All OF THE OUTSIDE AREAS ARE SHARED WITH HOST AND COTTAGED) including pool, patio , gazebo, path up the hill to the vineyard where a fire pit and seating await you. A self guided tour through the vineyard and garden is a treat! Pool, grill, paths, access to garden area, vineyard, gazebo, patio.... lots of space to spread out and relax. Kitchen is fully furnished with everything you might need to cook including enough dishes for 12 people ... more dishes are available upon request. We provide durable non ceramic/glass dishes/glasses that can be taken to the pool area. This is our home, we live here in another wing of the house. We enjoy getting to know our guests, but will give you privacy if you prefer. We have a local caterer if you would like to have meals served. We live on a 35 acre farm that has been in Susan's family since 1838. We are about 20 minutes east of downtown Owensboro and 14 minutes from the Owensboro Hospital. Two lakes are nearby for fishing (license required). Twenty-five to thirty minutes from Holiday World! A list of favorite restaurants and places to visit will be ready for you when you arrive. There is a small airport in Owensboro, but no public transportation to our farm. You will need to have a car! Bedrooms are upstairs. There is no elevator. We have one friendly outdoor cat, a shy outdoor cat and a golden doodle who lives in our quarters. Pets DO NOT HAVE ACCESS to guest quarters. Outdoor dining/sitting areas are for your enjoyment. Property is NOT wheelchair accessible. We do have wireless internet service that is USUALLY reliable, but this is the country ! NO GLASS IN THE POOL AREA !! We provide "plastic" and "non ceramic" dishes that can be taken into pool area.
