Cozy Country Cottage

Come stay in our ​cozy cottage located down a country lane. Part of the Ponder farm dating back to 1906, we have a little house that offers a peaceful environment overlooking the family farm with a picturesque old barn, surrounded by tree lined fields. Enjoy the updated home with fully furnished kitchen, queen bed, and open front and back porches for relaxing in the quiet countryside. We are located just south of Sherman off Hwy 11, close to Austin College, with easy access to Highway 75. The space Our 400 sq ft little house has a fully furnished kitchen ​including coffee maker, dishes, utensils, cookware, microwave, toaster, stove, ​and full size fridge. Living room has ceiling fan and wifi access tv. Bedroom with queen bed has ceiling fan, tv with wifi connection, and bath with walk-in shower. Tree lined gravel drive leads up to house. Open garage available at entry of property. We have a fire pit and patio area that guests can use. Guest access You are welcome to walk around the property, however barn and outbuildings are not accessible ​for safety reasons. Owner house and workshop are private and not part of this rental. ​Ponder Farm is a working farm property so we ask our guests to stay away from fields that are being actively planted or harvested. Not recommended for small children. Other things to note We are convenient if you are staying in the area, attending Austin College events, or going to Texoma or Durant. There is a movie/bowling center nearby if you want to enjoy those activities. We're close to many businesses on 75 if you are in town for a few days but want to try something different than your standard hotel. We occasionally have seen the WiFi slow down when it rains. You should temper expectations on the speed as it does vary. The water heater is on the small side so you should keep that in mind with 2 guests in the cottage. We’re also on septic, so heed the guidance provided in the kitchen and bathroom. Parking is on a gravel drive and not really suitable for guests with mobility issues.
