Romantic getaway from the city in the heart of Virginia Wine Country, 15 minutes to Shenandoah National Park, 30 minutes to Charlottesville. Private art studio on 265 acre farm with spectacular Blue Ridge views. Deck overlooks pond. Perfect sunrise and sunset viewing. Walk to swimming hole, collect fresh eggs, feed goats, canoe in pond or simply relax on large private deck. Perfect for one couple. Close to wineries, breweries, hiking, Montpelier, Monticello. 1.5 hrs from DC/ Richmond. The space Completely private studio with deck overlooking pond. Couples can enjoy drinks/dinner on the deck in Spring, Fall and Summer and a toasty fire in the wood-burning stove in the Barn Gallery when things turn chilly. Please be advised that we are in a rural location so taxi and Uber service (particularly pick-up) is limited. There are a number chauffeur services that offer bespoke winery trips. Guest access Full access to farm, river, ponds, and gallery complex complete with goats and peacocks. Hens generally lay fresh eggs for guests daily. We've recently added a wood burning stove in the Barn Gallery, access to which has been a big hit on chilly nights. We also have a 3 mile hiking trail on the property with spectacular views of the Shenandoah National Park from the white bench. Both Verizon and T-Mobile get good reception. In addition we have recently added high speed fiber optic internet (thank you rural broadband!!) . Finally you will meet Louie, our energetic Great Pyrenees . He is a big baby and loves accompanying guests on their walks around the property. Other things to note With regret, pets are not allowed to stay in Firnew Studio. They are, however, welcome in Firnew Cottage. And on the positive side, we have had 10 proposals on the property (usually on the bridge) and we're batting 1000!!
