East Harwood Farm Cottage, Timberscombe

East Harwood Farm Cottage is a pretty stone-built cottage near Timberscombe, attached at one corner to the owners' farmhouse, with countryside views from every front-facing window and a wonderfully quiet, secluded outlook across the valley. The space Sleeping up to 4 guests across two bedrooms, the cottage has an open-plan sitting room with dining table and a wood-burning stove, plus central heating throughout. The well-equipped kitchen has a modern electric range cooker and hob, microwave, cookware and an under-counter fridge with small freezer compartment. Upstairs are one king-sized double and one twin bedroom, along with the family bathroom, which has a bath with shower over, toilet and handbasin. A second TV is in the king-sized bedroom. Bed linen and towels are provided, and there is no washing machine, though the owners will do a load of laundry for guests staying a week or more. Outside, a patio area sits directly outside the cottage with table and chairs, and there is a picnic table and barbecue on a lower lawn, sunny until early evening. The cottage is reached via a three-quarter-mile private drive, and guests are asked to keep to the driveway and footpaths, with no access to the farm itself or the owners' garden, as guests are not insured when outside the cottage. Wifi is available, though speeds are typically slow given the rural location, and mobile coverage at the cottage is poor (some signal from EE and Vodafone). A 7kW EV charge point can be arranged with the owner for GBP 15 per use. A basket of logs and kindling is included for the wood-burner outside summer months, with further baskets available on-site at GBP 5 each, or extra logs purchasable from the owners. Up to two well-behaved, house-trained adult dogs are welcome by prior arrangement for a supplementary fee of GBP 20 per dog (no puppies, no cats). Dogs must not be left alone in the cottage or allowed on the furniture or upstairs.
