Old Lyme is one of the quieter towns in the lower Connecticut River Valley. It is surrounded, however, by towns not so quiet. Sure, Old Lyme has the "Side Door" jazz club at the Old Lyme Inn, and the amazing Coffee's Country Market and gourmet deli, La Scarpetto Pizzario Italiano and their amazing specials....but Old Saybrook (Saybrook Point Inn)....Essex and the famous Griswold Inn, Mystic Seaport, Water's Edge Resort, Essex Steam Train, Gillette's Castle, Goodspeed Opera House, etc. OMG. The space Mom's Cape is a semi modern Cape. The living room features a vaulted ceiling with ceiling fan. In fact there are 3 ceiling fans in the house. The oil heat base board hot water system provide perhaps the most comfortable form of winter heat with abundant hot water. Let me know if you want the hot water adjusted up or down in temperature. Guest access Guests have full access to the entire living space of the house. The basement is unfinished and not accessible. The garage is accessible because the trash and recycling barrels are in there. Old Lyme loves recycling and makes it really easy. Other things to note These are very unusual times. If you need to travel and find a place to stay you probably want to make sure it is clean. We steam clean all our floors. We use antiseptic wipes on all horizontal surfaces in our kitchen and bathroom. Finally, we wipe down all the doorknobs and frequently touched buttons (electric switches and appliance surfaces). There will be plenty of antiseptic towels on hand to help assure the house meets your standards. Thanks
