This one of a kind 4 bedroom home was built in 2018. We refinished an old barn frame from Waitsfield, VT and had it moved to our property. The hand-hewn frame of this early 1800's barn is a piece of art in itself. We have used as much of the original structure as we could to create a warm, rustic, and inviting space for you to get away from reality for a little while. Come enjoy a peaceful retreat in the mountains of Vermont. If it is sugaring season (end of February-beginning of April), please join us in our sugarhouse to witness the miracle of turning Maple tree sap into pure, organic Vermont maple syrup. We're a little biased, but we believe our maple syrup is the best in the world. The whole house is yours! We live right up the road from our new barn so we are available if any need/request arises. Huntington is a hidden gem tucked away between mountains, water, and destination towns. We're about 30 minutes from Burlington, Montpelier, Middlebury, and Sugarbush resort. We are even closer to Mad River Glen and Bolton Mountain. We have beautiful hiking, mountain biking, gravel road biking, and beer tasting within minutes. You'll need a car to get from point A to point B when you're visiting here. No public transportation and an Uber is very hard to find. And if you're visiting in winter or spring, you should consider having AWD or snow tires. Our hill isn't always easy to get up. Hi!! So we’re unapologetically big environmentalists and compost all food scraps (Holy shit!! We make dirt out of food instead of methane!!). And it’s now the law here in VT. We ask all guests to rinse and recycle all plastic and glass containers. Our drinking water from our well is delicious. There is NO need to bring bottled water. If you’re still worried there is a water filter inside the door of the refrigerator. We return any glass or bottles that can be returned for money here in VT (we ask that you don't crush them so they can be returned). If you don’t think you can separate food scraps, recyclables, and returnables you probably shouldn’t stay here. You won’t be asked back if you screw it up!! Because of our environmental stewardship, we also don't give out sponges (but we do provide dish clothes). If you really want a sponge, you'll have to bring your own. Sorry if this is an inconvenience. Please note there is no cell service and WiFi still comes in through the phone line (slow but works). We should have fiber optic by the end of 2024. Lastly, the road and the driveway can be tough in the winter and spring. If you don't have 4 wheel drive or AWD, I hope you have good tires.
