Our light-filled, spacious and stylishly decorated home in the eco-village of Scarborough is the ideal place to unwind and watch the sunset. Drink your first coffee of the day on the peaceful balconies overlooking the ocean and the Baskloof nature reserve. In this quiet retreat there is more than enough space to be together with the ones you love or read a book in a comfortable hammock. The space The middle-floor entrance opens onto a spacious room with sliding doors that lead onto a large deck with a hammock and ridiculous views of the ocean and the mountain. The main room has a comfortable sitting room with fireplace, as well as a large 8-seater dining table. There is an open-plan kitchen which is well equipped for self-catering. It has gorgeous mountain views and an adjoining scullery with a dishwasher, washing machine etc. From the middle floor, there is a flight of stairs taking you to the top floor which has two bedrooms and a bathroom. Both bedrooms have really incredible views of the ocean and the mountainside. The first has a queen bed and single bed mezzanine to accommodate a child or an extra guest. It also has its own balcony, and views stretching over Scarborough village to the beach and Cape Point nature reserve. With the windows open, you can hear the gentle sound of the sea. The second bedroom has a double bed and a desk with ocean and mountain views and its own balcony. The bathroom has a shower (also with nice views!) The cute ground floor features one large bedroom, another bedroom/lounge, a mini kitchen with gas hob and gorgeous bathroom. The main bedroom has a comfortable king-sized bed from which you can watch the waves and birds flying past. The large lounge/bedroom is stylishly decorated, and features a double futon, a sleeper couch, and gorgeous extendable yellow-wood dining-room table with six chairs. The sliding doors have full ocean views and open onto a deck perfect for al fresco dining and entertaining. **please note that this floor has two beds but only one private bedroom, the bedroom/ lounge can be closed off from the rest of the apartment but it is in a communal area)** Both rooms have large sliding doors that open onto a big deck for inside/outside living. With such a great view of the village and the bay you rise in the morning and decide if you want to amble down to the village cafe for a coffee to drink on the beach. Check the waves from the comfort of your bed: the house overlooks three surf spots, and is a short drive to a variety of other world-class waves. The newly renovated downstairs bathroom is filled with natural light, plants and brass fittings. Relax in the oversized bath with a glass of wine, or under the very spacious shower in this comfortable wet room. As you walk out the back door you have direct access onto Baskloof nature reserve's rolling hills, filled with fynbos, streams & bird life. Cape Point National Park with its diverse wildlife is visible from the balcony and just a short drive away. Guest access We have two private parking spaces directly beneath the house for our guests. Both the beach and the local deli are a 4-minute drive away from the house, or 20 minutes on foot if you prefer to weave through the sleepy village admiring the flowers and birds. Our back garden leads directly onto the Baskloof Fynbos Reserve for stunning walks with never-ending ocean views and more beautiful fynbos than you could ever imagine. If you're a keen road cyclist, Scarborough is your destination, and the local cafe your HQ. Other things to note This property is self-check in with a very easy key-box code.
