Overtown Manor is a much-loved family home set on a working farm in the unspoilt Wiltshire countryside. Ideal for reunions and celebrations, it offers elegant interiors, a heated outdoor pool in summer, a thriving vegetable garden, & the option of private cooking lessons. Guests can enjoy miles of cycling & walking on the Marlborough Downs. At the same time, the Manor is conveniently close to Avebury, Marlborough, and Swindon, offering the perfect blend of country calm and local attractions. The space Ground Floor: Overtown is an old house and there are a few steps between rooms. All the windows look out onto a beautiful English garden. Downstairs there are 3 large reception rooms and a big well equipped farmhouse kitchen. Kitchen The kitchen has a four door Aga, electric hobs and ovens, fridge, microwave, dishwasher. Everything you need for up to 12 people. Cellar There is another fridge in the cellar if you need it and a large up right freezer. The cellar is a great place to store anything that needs to be kept cool. Drawing room A lovely place to sit, catch up with friends and family and play board games around a log fire. Sitting room A cosy room to watch television - Smart television with Netflix, Freesat and DVD player. Dining room This room has been really popular with guests wanting to work. It is well lit, lots of natural day light, space and good Wifi………..there is good Wifi throughout the house. Laundry room There is a large laundry room / drying room outside with a washing machine, tumble dryer and drying racks. It is really warm and a great place to dry out any wet kit. The bedrooms have lovely views of the garden and stables Bedroom layouts The beds will all be made up and have towels, please let Nancy know how you would like the rooms to be arranged before you arrive. • Room 1 Double ensuite – a beautiful old four poster bed with a new mattress (standard double) with ensuite shower • Room 2 Double ensuite – Super king bed, can be a twin. A great room for young children with a large blackout blind and ensuite shower • Room 3 Double ensuite – Super king bed, can be a twin – best room in the house with ensuite bath and shower • Room 4 (attic room ) Double ensuite – king size bed with ensuite bath and shower • Room 5 Double ensuite (attic room ) – super king bed, can be a twin with ensuite shower – a large room great for children and room for one to sleep on a camp bed. Please let me know if you need one. • Room 6 – (bedroom ½ way up to the attic rooms) Twin room with separate private bath and shower room (up five stairs). This room is good to older children, but the ceiling and shower are quite low so not ideal for anyone over 6ft. Twin beds available in four bedrooms on request – making 10 separate beds. The bedrooms have televisions, hairdryers, shampoo, body wash, handwash, soap, flannels. Outside: A large garden and vegetable garden. Plenty of space for children to bike around the stables and a table tennis table and crocket. Garden table and chairs for 8 people plus another table with seating for 6 people. Swimming Pool - open from mid May to 1st September The swimming pool is well fenced and has two sun loungers, sofa seating and a changing room and shower. You will have sole use of the swimming pool. Additional Information More logs are available upon request A cot and highchair can be provided upon request. Dogs over the age of twelve months are more than welcome at Overtown Manor. Please note an additional £20 charge applies per dog per stay. Guest access Guest will have full access to the front of the house, with your own private off road parking. We live at the back of the house with our own access, garden and parking. Other things to note There are horses in the stables and fields around the house, free ranging chickens and Borris the farm cat who sometimes might say hello. If you can find the chicken eggs you are welcome to have them for your breakfast.
