Bellsden-a beautiful secluded 5-guest, fully-fenced (dog-proof) cottage, complete with open fireplace, offering a taste of rural life in a walking and wild-swimming paradise . Enjoy peace and quiet of life in the middle of the countryside, with a burn (stream) running alongside the property and rabbits everywhere. Watch ospreys circle the Loch below and sleep soundly, sometimes lulled by the gentle lowing of cattle... to awaken to a chorus of bird song. Well-behaved dogs welcome -small cost. The space All rooms in Bellsden face south, with breath-taking views over Marlee Loch below and the Sidlaw hills beyond. The cottage generally sleeps up to 5 people (plus infants – cot available) in two bedrooms: Master (twin/Queen-sized bed), and a second bedroom with bunks and a single bed; and a family bathroom. A comfortable sofa-bed in the sitting room allows for up to 2 extra guests (2 children or 1 adult). There is a small, well-provisioned kitchen, along with a cozy sitting room, complete with open fire for those colder nights. Heating throughout the cottage is through electric storage heaters. When the mood takes you, the outside patio, overlooking the loch awaits you, a perfect place to relax... there are also two sun loungers available, and the former greenhouse has been transformed into a lovely sun room. This property runs entirely on electricity (although there is an open fire in the sitting room). So, if there is a power cut, we supply a small "emergency" pack, which, among other things contains torches and a gas camping stove. Guest access Guests at Bellsden have private access to the entire property. Other things to note Just 6 minutes’ drive away is Blairgowrie, with independent shops and supermarkets, Littles – an award-winning restaurant – and several takeaways. The Kinloch House hotel is almost next door, and there is another good eatery in nearby Meikleour. This is an ideal location from which to enjoy a myriad of outings suited to the whole family. The region offers castles, fishing, horse-riding, boating and much more and your hosts will be on hand to help you tailor your activities to suit your family. As we are 2.5 miles from the closest town (Blairgowrie) and there is only one bus per day, you will need to bring your own transport. We have ample parking just outside your door. PLEASE NOTE, Bellsden is on a working farm and there may be cattle or sheep in the surrounding fields - if so, please avoid walking your dog in them. Also, be aware that there may well be mud around!
