Traditional country house in idyllic location

Welcome to our house! It's been in our family for 40 years. It's been lovingly renovated and is now a spacious and comfortable home from which to enjoy a taste of typical rural England. East Marden is a small village, surrounded by the glorious rolling countryside of the South Downs National Park. There are wonderful walking and cycling opportunities here, with lots of things to see and do in the area. Goodwood racecourse and motor circuit are within 15 minutes drive away. The space The cottage has been previously extended and recently completely renovated so is now a new modern home in an old traditional cottage. Please note that since the photos were taken, we have installed more furnishings and fittings, and there are more pictures on the walls! There is a large dual aspect open plan kitchen/diner, the heart of the home, with a back door opening onto the garden, a large farmhouse table, a wood-burning stove and two armchairs (for those head chefs not involved in the cooking). The kitchen is fully equipped, and includes a range cooker with induction hob, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer, and stove-top espresso coffee maker. There is a separate large living room which is very bright and light with comfy sofas and armchairs, a wood-burning stove and a television. Patio doors overlook a large mature garden. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, one with ensuite shower/toilet. There are two spacious single bedrooms, one of which has a desk and chair, to double as an office. There is a family bathroom with bath /shower and toilet. Please note there is no downstairs toilet. There is a large sunny west-facing back garden with two patios, table and chairs. There is parking for 3 cars. Guest access Guests will have the whole house and garden to themselves. Other things to note Please note: - there are no amenities in the village - there is no phone or internet reception in the village- although there is good wifi and it's easy to make calls on mobiles with wifi calling. - although there is a hedge running around the boundary of the property, there is no fence. - there is also no side gate going through to the garden from the front of the house.
