A car is pretty much a necessity for shopping and sightseeing, although there is bus service. Guest access Swim safely and snorkel the reef of the Caribbean. Nearby are tour options for horse-riding, hiking, diving, snorkel/beach trips, kayaking, zoo and many restaurants to choose from (please inquire). A short driving distance away is Historic Portobelo with the fort ruins and original customs house. 4 km away is mainland Panama's prettiest beach, a golden horseshoe with beginner reef and restaurant.
