Cottage in Mariposa

A cozy hidden hideaway located right in the town of Mariposa, an hour's drive to Yosemite Valley and minutes away from cafes, restaurants, shops, and the grocery store. The house was built in the 1940's, and has the charms and character that you only find in a vintage home, but with modern and updated decor. A half way wrap around porch makes for the perfect spot to relax with a drink and enjoy the quite privacy of the property. The space Built in the 1940's this house is charming, spacious, and cozy, and made to be filled with fun, love, and laughter! The walls of the Cottage hold years of memories, and they are just waiting to hold your special Mariposa memories too. :-) We call it the "Hygge" Hillside Cottage, and for anyone not familiar with that Danish word, it can be hard to exactly explain the meaning, because it can have a different definition to everyone.. "Hygge" is an attitude and a feeling of coziness: any things, people, places, and atmospheres that help you forget about the stressors in your life, and just fill you in THAT moment, with happiness. Forgetting anything annoying or emotionally overwhelming, and focusing on togetherness, the people you love, and the things that make you truly happy. The word has special meaning to Lynn, who's parents immigrated from Denmark before she was born, and her co-host Laney, who is her niece! :-) We hope everyone finds their time at the Cottage to be filled with the hygge things they love! Here are the things we provide for you: *WiFi!!!* *Propane Grill with outside seating on front patio!* Bedrooms & Bathroom: -Each bedroom has a Queen bed -Clean, fresh Bed Linens -Clean, fresh Towels & Washcloths - Hairdryer -Handsoap, Body Wash, & Shampoo -Toilet Paper Kitchen: -Refrigerator, Freezer, Stovetop, & Oven -Pots & Pans -Dishes, Glasses, & Silverware -Cooking Utensils -Coffee Pot & Coffee Filters -Salt, Pepper, & Cooking Oil -Dish Towels, Dish Soap, & Sponge -Paper Towels Living Room: -Window Air Conditioning Unit (this is the only one in the house) -TV with BlueRay & Netflix -Couches (Folds into one double and one single bed, pillows & bedding provided.) Sun Room: -Desk -Couch (Folds into one single bed, pillow & bedding provided.) Laundry Room: -Washer & Dryer -Laundry Detergent & Dryer Sheets Guest access The guests have private access to the entire house, deck, yard, patio, and parking available. Other things to note **For Summer reservations please note: the Cottage only has one window AC unit in the living room, so during the summer it may be necessary to sleep with the bedroom doors open to access the cool air. Each bedroom also has a standing, rotating fan.** The house is located down a small hill from the parking area. It's not far, and there are two routes to take to get to the house: The cement stairway right to the front patio, or a gradual sloping cement walkway with a handrail.
