Redesigned with outdoor lounge and dining areas that gives you a calm environment to experience the surrounding jungle, it is an oasis to return to after a busy day at the beach. Inside the story continues with redesigned bedrooms and a cosy family lounge. Located in the popular south coast, guests can take day trips to famous galle fort, safaris and popular hotspots. Wake up to the sounds of nature and feel the vibration of the waves crashing against the cliffs as you drift off to sleep. Our stylish 2 bedroom villa is unique to Sri Lanka, taking inspiration from rustic materials and hand made rattan furniture that only improves with age. Compiled with authentic brass fittings and concrete flooring, the high ceilings and open glass doors completes the tranquil setting as you drift off to nature. The villa is suitable for up to 4 guests. Our refreshing infinity pool accompanies the outside decking area, which makes the perfect setting for relaxing morning yoga or gazing out to the Indian ocean with a sunset drink. The rustic villa is set amongst tropical Sri Lankan jungle overflowing with coconut palms, the open setting making it the perfect place to relax. The stunning coastline is renowned for its pristine beaches, surf spots, cultural temples and local fishing villages.​There is a public beach down a short walking trail from the villa. You can also go surfing at the popular Hiriketiya Beach, a 10 minute drive from the villa, with it's many lively cafe's, bars etc. or head to the kid-friendly Dikwella beach. Families, couples and groups can enjoy the tranquility of the space all year round. Or if you're looking for that indulgent solo getaway for some well-needed R&R, this place is the ideal! A hidden gem @TheSkippersEscape is an opportunity to experience the true essence of what Sri Lanka has to offer. Guest access You will enjoy full access to the house, kitchen, front deck, outdoor lounge, pool and yard. There is an annex with a separate entrance which is not accessible for guests. If we use the space, we will inform the guests prior to booking. Other things to note As we’re a secluded villa, we recommend that you hire transportation and pre-book airport pick up - our guidebook also has numbers for local scooter hire, tuktuk etc. Due to unavoidable construction in the area, we are informing guests of some noise in the area. Pleas note that we do not have cafes or restaurants in our village. You’ll need to drive to hirikitiya or dikwella for that. If you’re looking for more touristy area then you can book there. Being a holiday home, we aim to provide you with the best and most affordable experience possible. However , due to the natural environment and surroundings of the villa, and also the way in which Sri Lankan villages operate, from time to time we may experience power cuts and internet network failure which are out of our control. There are some Internet cafes in the area which we can recommend. Our jungle home is in a natural environment so do expect some local wildlife such as monkeys, squirrels,peacocks etc and insects ( spiders , lizards, ants). So please keep windows closed when you are away. There are a range of local restaurants, bars and cafes 5-10 minutes drive from the house. Please carry your own water bottles, re-use the bags we have provided, and leave a positive footprint If you’re looking to be in the tourist hotspots then this may not be the place for you. But if you want an authentic Sri Lankan village experience far from the crowds then this is the perfect place!
