Cottage in Asheville

Adorable private rental home located on Chautauqua Lake canal. Walk or short drive to the Village of Lakewood and a short drive or boat ride to Bemus Point, Chautauqua Institution and Mayville. The park across the street has playground, tennis, volleyball and lots of extra parking. Three bedrooms upstairs and a sleeping porch, downstairs the mudroom has a twin with trundle. Full bath downstairs and half up. A huge deck with hot tub and a dock for your boat! The perfect lake retreat! The space Our family has enjoyed this cottage for many years. While we continue to update the space, it is an older lake cottage and there are some things that can't be changed. The ceilings are low(less than 7 feet in most places) and the stairs and upstairs hall are very narrow. We call it cottage charm, but it may not be for you. The cottage is two-story with 3 bedrooms upstairs and another private sleeping area downstairs. Two of the upstairs bedrooms have queen beds and the third room has a twin bunk bed and twin day bed with trundle (sleeps a total of 4). Downstairs the mudroom has a twin day bed with trundle that sleeps 2. While not an official sleeping area, the upstairs covered porch also has a twin day bed and is a great place to nap. We also have a pack and play for use. The kitchen is stocked with all cooking utensils and basic pantry items and dishwasher. Off of the kitchen is a full-size washer and dryer. The living room is a good size and open to the large dining area . The large deck just off the living room is a great size and has a covered space to eat outside. A dip in the hot tub is the perfect way to end your day . The private dock can accommodate boats up to 20 ft or makes a great place to fish or just lay out. The dock has a ladder which makes getting in and out of kayaks much easier. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house. The garage is locked as well as some upstairs linen closets for the cleaning staff. The dock may not be available during some dates during summer months. Please verify with host before planning to dock your boat. Other things to note There is parking at the house, and street parking is also permitted, but please be mindful of soccer games. The park across the street also has plenty of overflow if brining multiple cars. When not using our boat, it is kept in the driveway.
