Wübu Ecohotel is located at 5 minutes in motorboat from the town of Livingston, in the area of Izabal, in the carribbean coast of Guatemala. Our hotel is part of a bigger project that is a Model for Rural Development, with sustainable principles. You will have magic experiences in our pristine jungle, our caves, jungle hikes and sightseeing. We are located in the jungle, so it's likely that you will see local fauna like birds, cats, chickens, dogs, spiders and others. The space Our accommodations are made with locally sourced bamboo and stone, with lush gardens and secluded areas with no more noise than that of birds, wind, cicadas and rain. We take much care of controlling our insect visitors, but we don't use aggressive insecticides, therefore, you may see some spiders, mosquitoes, crickets and other small animals around the house and sometimes other animals. In the dam, there are frogs and toads, that come out after dark. We share our living with local fauna and flora and try to respect them while maintaining our areas comfortable. Guest access To arrive into the main house, you will enjoy a hike of around 600 meters inside our property and through our plantation fields. Guests can enjoy our natural pool (A small dam, filled with springwater), the grotto with water coming from the ceiling, a big cave with great rooms and mystic areas, three sightseeing areas in our mountains, fantastic jungle hikes, taxonomic tours, permacultural tours and various courses in bamboo construction, handcrafts, permaculture design and more! Other things to note In order to get to the hotel, please coordinate with us first. Then, you have to locate yourself in the town of Livingston, a 30 minute boat ride from Puerto Barrios. From Livingston, you have to take another 5 minute boat to Aldea Miramar, where you have to ask to be dropped at the house of Don Roberto Figueroa. We will be waiting for you where the boat drops you and then, we will hike through Wübu for 10 minutes until we reach the houses.
