Sunset Beach is a small exclusive neighborhood of about 10 properties nestled along the leeward foreshores of Sunset Beach in Wemyss/Whymms. One of the only leeward sunset beaches with homes on it, the properties are in high demand over the November - April time frame. A car is a virtual "must" while on island. To connect from Nassau (NAS) from the States with a same day connection, please ensure that you arrive by flight into NAS no later than 11:30 on your inbound to Stella Maris and on your departure that you book a flight no earlier than 1pm out of NAS. There are 2 flights every day to Long Island and taxis or car hire are available at the airport but must be booked in advance Casa Jumbo Estate lies on the West (Leeward) side of the island approximately 30 minutes by car south of Stella Maris Airport and 45 minutes from Deadman's Cay Airport. We strongly advise considering renting a car or taxi transportation can be organised. A meet and greet and pre shopping can be organised as the closest grocery store is approximately 15 minutes South of the Island. For specialty items, please consider bringing with you but check with Bahamas Customs! Fruit and vegetables are not permitted but cheeses, wine etc are. Please note there is only 1 ATM on island about 50 minutes drive south and many of the local establishments take cash only so stock up before you come.
