Villa Mare is a newly renovated and lovingly restored traditional Cypriot house located above the sea, boasting uninterrupted Mediterranean sea views and an untouched forested hillside behind it. The house is nestled in this tranquil, secluded paradise – hidden away from the rest of the world. The perfect escape to soak up the Cyprus sun and reconnect with nature. The space The Villa is ideal for individuals, couples, families or a large group of friends. It can accommodate up to 8 adults comfortably and a mix of children, toddlers or infants. This is an ideal holiday home family vacations, as well as for couples who wish to just get away and really spend some quality time together – it is a very romantic hideaway! The Villa is a great party venue also, perfect for large families and groups of friends who want to holiday together and just relax and have fun! The Villa is large enough that even the more introspective souls can find a peaceful slice of heaven in which to quietly read and listen to the birdsong and waves. If peace and quiet is what you are searching for as a writer, artist or deep thinker, this traditional, dreamy Mediterranean villa can be your haven! The Villa, which is decorated with beautifully curated antiques, includes a fully functioning kitchen, large living room with a stunning arch window looking out to the sea with a woodburning stove, four different and fabulous bedrooms, and two large newly renovated bathrooms, one of which you can bathe in viewing the sea! The master bedroom enjoys access to a large sun-bathed balcony with stunning sea views. We have just completed a beautiful new extension, allowing all bedrooms to be fully private, and providing a second bathroom with a sublime walk-in shower! We have also given the outside an added touch of magic; there is a new patio area with built-in seating for eating and lounging and an outdoor BBQ and sink, ideal for cooking as you look out over the sea! The Villa Mare boasts a beautiful garden with numerous local herbs and flowers such as jasmine, roses, lavender, rosemary, colourful geraniums and bougainvillea, almond trees, olive trees, carob trees and a lemon tree. There are multiple areas for sitting outside and enjoying the Mediterranean weather. The sea is in walking distance, and there are a clusters of ‘secret', beautiful beaches just a few moments away by car or bicycle. There are hiking paths all around the Villa with wildflowers and migratory birds in the Spring. Opens out onto the patio. •1 Second Floor Double bedroom with kingsize 4-poster bed with French doors opening out to a beautiful balcony with full panoramic views to the sea. A bed for a child and a crib can be set up in this room if needed. •1 Second Floor room with option of 2 single beds that can be made into a double bed, if needed. 1 baby crib (this can be moved to other rooms as desired by the guest). Being a traditional Cypriot house, it was built using time-honoured techniques to maintain a comfortable internal temperature. With its thick mud-brick walls for cooling and insulation, natural ventilation pathways and ample trees for shade, we found it unnecessary to install AC. This, combined with our solar panel that heats the water, allows for the Villa to have a minimal footprint. Electrical fans are available, however, should you wish to have additional cooling. We also make use of organic waste through our compost heap, which is used to enrich the Villa’s gardens. And the Villa is thoroughly cleaned using eco-friendly products. The Location... Villa Mare is located above Kayalar (Orga) Village on the northern coast of Cyprus; twenty-five minutes drive from the city centre of Kyrenia/Girne to the West. The Villa is located above one of the last remaining pristine and unspoilt coastline areas left in the Mediterranean. A handful of serene and hidden beaches are only minutes away from the Villa. Guest access The key will be available to guests at the premises upon arrival. A detailed guide is sent to guests that explains all the workings of the house. The guests can contact the host with additional questions. - WIFI is available and free for all guests - All the amenities of the villa are available to guests - There is a flat screen TV, though it is not connected to local programs; it is for use with the available DVD player or wifi to your own providers such as Netflix and AppleTv Other things to note Accessibility The Villa is located on a steep slope, but has available parking for multiple cars and has a good access right up to the front door. The main house is on multiple levels, there are several steps between most of the rooms, and there is both an internal and external staircase leading to the second floor. There are also multiple sitting areas around the villa with breathtaking views down to the sea or up to the Pine forested hills behind. Thus the villa is not be suitable for people with mobility problems and care should be taken when moving around in the house due to the existence of uneven steps and small opening between rooms and floors. There is a gated area safe for toddlers, and a crib is available as is a highchair. Please do note that this is an old house with multiple levels and walls, located on quite a steep slope, thus parents should be responsible for and watch their kids at all times.
