Heritage Homestay Collection (all-inclusive tour)
Description
Our heritage homestay collection includes curated private properties that enable you to experience Bhutan in the most authentic way–by staying with locals. In 2016, MyBhutan teamed with Airbnb internal to develop programs that provide a revealing and intimate look into Bhutanese life and culture. This experience is now yours to enjoy! Rate valid for India/Bangladesh/Maldives passport holders. The space Homestay tours feature the following locations and activities: Paro - Hike to the iconic Tiger's Nest, learn traditional archery and visit ancient fortresses. Punakha - Visit enchanted monasteries and peruse local villages, followed by an organic, home-cooked Bhutanese dinner. Haa - Enjoy breath-taking views of Mount Jomolhari and the Tibetan himalayas atop Bhutan's highest motor pass, venture into heavy alpine forests and enjoy a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath. Phobjikha - Phobjikha is home to the rare Black Crane. Your homestay is a 5 minute walk to the Black Crane Center, where you can discover how this important bird has been conserved with Bhutan's careful efforts. It is also one of Bhutan's most agriculturally fertile valleys -- a perfect place to learn to cook Bhutanese cuisine! Bumthang - Tour your host's weaving studio near the homestay, which is known for its homemade biscuits and vivid, colorful decor. On the second night in Bumthang, you'll enjoy endless cups of sweet tea and homemade buckwheat pancakes and jam at the next stop on the tour. Gasa - Walk to the hidden Gasa hot springs, where people travel from across Asia to cure ailments, and then come back to the homestay for local song and dance in the evening. Your host is known for his outgoing conversation skills and will be happy to show you the most notable sights around Gasa, including sacred relics and a secret underground passage. All of our homestays offer a unique approach to high value, low impact tourism, where your travel experience benefits both you and the local community. Aligned with the mission of our nonprofit partner, Tarayana, we strive to provide opportunity for villages across Bhutan to participate in growing markets. You can normally expect simple comforts such as hot water and modern toilets, but should understand that the value in this tour is centered on the unique access to the country that you will experience, and not on the typical amenities one might expect from hotels. Guest access This booking includes all of your accommodations and meals, plus a private vehicle, personal driver, and tour guide throughout the entirety of your stay in Bhutan. We will also build a bespoke itinerary to complement your stay and process all visas and road permits required for you to enter and transit through the Kingdom. Other things to note After completing your reservation, you will be asked to submit a copy of your passport for visa processing. Send us a message if you have any questions prior to booking.
