Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located space, just blocks from historic downtown Durango and across the street from a city park and tennis courts. In-home upstairs room with a queen-sized bed, walk-in closet, full bath, and private attached balcony. This location is also an easy walk or bike ride to the Animas River Trail, nearby walking and mountain biking trails, and Fort Lewis College. Off-street parking is available. Guest access Park on 4th Avenue in front of our house, and use that main entrance. Be aware there are steep steps up to our front door! Be sure to stop at the front porch and enjoy the view while you catch your breath. Inside the house, use the steps to the second floor -- at the top of the stairs, the room is on the left and the bathroom is on the right. You have access to those rooms, the deck off your bedroom (there are lawn chairs and a table out there), and the 4th Avenue front porch, if it's not already in use. There is also an evaporative cooler in the room for warmer days. Use is pretty self-explanatory, but instructions are on the shelf in the walk-in closet. During your stay Ken and I enjoy meeting our guests when the opportunity presents, but we are in and out and out and about a lot. We have a camper and a raft and try to get out to enjoy the mountains and rivers as much as we can! We are retired but still have work to do from home, and there always seems to be projects to tackle in our yard and garden. Other things to note If you need to work online during the day, there is a nice indoor & outdoor workspace with a coffee shop and food two blocks away, in the Smiley Building, diagonally across the park.
