Guest access Entire space to yourselves, private entrance coming and going. All backyard outdoor areas open to enjoy. Other things to note Here are some facts to prevent surprises or misunderstandings and correct misleading reviews. 1.. The space has a private bathroom and kitchenette with a frig, microwave, filtered water system, plates, bowels, utensils, a selection of cold beverages, teas and sweeteners. Outside bbq available. Complimentary coffee and pastry is served in the morning upon request. No stovetop cooking allowed for safety and sanitation reasons with the exception of stays over 31 days where stovetop options are provided. The bathroom is spacious with many amenities. Hot water takes a couple minutes to warm up. 2. SIZE / DECOR / LAYOUT Size of space is cozy and smallish but by no means tiny or cluttered, about 375 square feet, appointed by professional designers. The main area also has a dedicated work space with roomy desk. 3. STORAGE / CLOSETS. There is plenty of storage: four huge drawer units under the bed, a large storage space for luggage or other big bulky items, and a sizable closet to hang many garments. 4. SHARED AREAS: We are usually home, but 85 percent of the time, guests have the pool, deck and all outdoor areas to themselves. Normally we only appear in these areas to maintain the grounds or take a quick dip in the pool during the hottest months. On the rare occasions when we need to use these areas for a longer periods of time, we will give you a heads up. 5. PARKING Our property is on a private drive that extends beyond the end of a cul de sac. The private drive is narrow and shared with three other residences. Please read the check in / parking instructions carefully we send 30 minutes prior to your arrival to assure you come to the right residence and don't inadvertently disturb neighbors or block the easement. Text us if you are confused and we’ll be happy to help. 6. GENERAL RULES Maximum of two guests overnight, no loud parties or excessive noise, smoking in outdoor areas only. 7. REVIEW ETIQUETTE We welcome constructive feedback and honest opinions, but not mean-spirited falsehoods or petty unreasonable complaints. We have made a number of improvements based on valuable guest feedback, but we prefer comments of this nature be sent privately. We extend our guests the same courtesy. 8. TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS ON PREMISES Since you will be on private property, we do not allow photos to be taken anywhere on the premises without permission, but fun selfies are okay. This is for three reasons: a)To protect the many copyrighted and trademarked objects, art and photographs displayed on the property. b) To protect our personal privacy and that of our child. c) To prevent unscrupulous guests from taking misleading or staged pictures for the purposes of getting a free stay, a common scam. We now video document the cottage between each cleaning with a time code as reliable documentation of the cottage's condition right before guests arrive.. If a serious problem is discovered or arises during your stay, we will gladly grant a refund but only after we have the chance to examine the problem in person to see if it actually exits and compare it to our baseline video. At that point we allow the guests to take their own video for their protection. We regret we had to resort to this over the few bad apple guests out there since the vast majority of guests are honest and delightful. - We aim to offer a real classic California life-style experience amid art and nature, not a generic, sterile, corporate one.
