Description
Designed for seclusion, rest, and to be in contact with nature, Hobbiton is a rural house with a lot of magic, charm, and stunning views, nestled at the top of a hill in the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park, within a picturesque 3000 sq. meter plot. It is prepared to accommodate 7 people, 6 of them adults and the seventh a child, whose height does not exceed 140 cm. Continue... The space The plot is dotted with junipers, holm oaks, oaks, ash trees and other trees, and also with many rocks that have been detached for millennia from La Pedriza, all of which contribute to shaping a rugged and steep landscape in our land in which the view is enhanced by impressive views from a privileged elevated perspective, with La Maliciosa, El Yelmo and Los Porrones as the protagonists, as we are in front of these important peaks. All exterior images correspond to what is inside our plot and have been photographed from different perspectives of it. The interior of the house is colorful and cozy, full of details alluding to nature and fantasy, which we have been collecting selectively and with great affection throughout our life together and from our travels. What makes this house a special place is not only its careful decoration, but the surrounding beauty that is framed by the windows and glass doors creating the impression of authentic natural paintings. The house's interior is 185 square meters (not including the terrace) and is structured on three floors. It has three access doors, a living room with a fireplace, a very bright 23 sq. meter porch on the ground floor (where the dining room and a living room are located), a 25 sq. meter terrace overlooking La Pedriza on the second floor, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and the kitchen. Outside there is a rustic set of low table and three sturdy wooden armchairs (what we call the Los Picapiedras corner). A children's swing hangs from a tree. Except for a dishwasher and dryer, we have all the appliances that make life easier, including a microwave, iron, and hairdryer. Each room has its name: the double (with a queen size bed) is La Dama and the Unicornio; the twin (two single beds) is El Enebro; the children's room is the Habitación de las Hadas, with a single bed of 90x190cm and a smaller one for a child who is no more than 140 cm tall. On the third floor is the room called Torreón. Although it has no door, it is conveniently isolated from the rest of the house by a staircase. If you have a baby, we have a travel crib at no extra cost. The house is warm in winter thanks to central heating and, in summer, the altitude at which we are and the thick granite walls make the house an exceptionally cool place. In case of unusual need, three fans are available. On TV you can watch, in addition to the usual channels, Movistar Plus, Disney, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. You can park in front of the gate, in the place reserved for our car, or, if you prefer, immediately after passing through the access gate. The books and records that appear in the photos will not be available (except those of El Torreón) and, in the event that young children are staying, the paper sculptures, the sculpture of the crooked house and the floor lamp of the living room that has a red house, will occupy another place. . Other things to note The village of El Boalo, where we are, has two small supermarkets, a pharmacy, a medical center, a tobacco shop, an ATM, a cultural center with a rich and varied agenda, and a post office, among other services. And, of course, it also has several restaurants, two of which (Casa Agustín and Don Baco) have excellent references and are very popular in the area, appreciated by both residents and travelers. The town hall offers an electric bike rental service. In terms of transportation, three buses pass through El Boalo that take you either to Moncloa or Plaza de Castilla. We are at: 50 km from Madrid. 1.2 km from Mataelpino. 7.5 km from Manzanares el Real. 17 km from Puerto de Navacerrada. 28 km from El Escorial. 34 km from La Granja de San Ildefonso. 44 km from Segovia. And without having to travel very far, right here, in this area of the Regional Park, there are very interesting options related to nature and outdoor sports, as well as cultural tourism. On the website of the town hall of El Boalo-Cerceda-Mataelpino (known as BOCEMA), scroll down and on the right-hand side you'll see a section called BCM Info Turismo (in orange letters), where you can find information. The Hermitage of San Isidro Labrador is just a ten-minute walk away. We want your stay in Hobbiton to be unforgettable. We'll be happy to assist and help you in any way we can.
