Beautiful Victorian Home
The house is large and comfortable. Old fashioned elegance with unusual details and charm. It offers a serene atmosphere with high ceilings, antique oriental rugs, comfortable sofas, a superb kitchen, a beautiful garden and large backyard. Bellows Falls, a village in the Town of Rockingham, offers charming cafes, book and craft stores, restaurants, several pizza parlors and views of the Connecticut River. Local walking trails are available for outdoors-oriented folks. The space This old house has many unique and beautiful features. Lovely wallpaper, walnut wainscoting, a long, deep claw foot tub, a tiled bathroom-shower-in-one,. Neither precious nor untouchable, it's comfortable and welcoming. The house was built in 1875 and won the 2002 Annual Old House Award (and that was just for the outside). The house sits behind a large, tall hedge, on a large lot. The back yard features lawn, garden beds and outdoor furniture. Painted in in 3 colors recommended by an expert in Victorian homes, his research showed these as the original ones. Each bedroom has a large closet, chest of drawers and comfortable mattress (guests rave about the comfortable beds). Guest access Three separate bedrooms are available, 2 with queen beds (one on the first floor, another on the second) plus a bedroom with a twin bed on the second floor. Guests have access to a large, comfortable living room, a well-equipped eat-in kitchen, a formal dining room and a laundry room. In the warmer months, guest have access to the large backyard and its outdoor furniture. Two bathrooms are available. The first floor bathroom is an exceptional, custom-tiled, all-in one shower/bathroom in the European style. The second floor bathroom has a 5-foot long, 1-foot deep claw foot tub.
