La Maîtrise, in Bayeux - Les Maisons des Pommiers

Located in the historic heart of Bayeux, at the foot of the Cathedral, we will welcome you to this former 14th century canon's residence. This house is one of the oldest houses in Bayeux. Completely restored, respecting the old elements in memory of the past, it now offers all the contemporary comforts for a comfortable stay. The space In the historic heart of Bayeux, just a short walk from the cathedral, La Maîtrise is an old house full of character, ideal for exploring the city on foot and enjoying its historic atmosphere. You enter through one of Bayeux's iconic old gates, which is regularly pointed out during city tours. Behind the walls of the house is a small, fully enclosed inner terrace, sheltered from view, with garden furniture: a pleasant place to have a drink or enjoy a quiet moment in the heart of the city. A beautiful stone spiral staircase then leads to the various floors of the house. ON THE FIRST FLOOR The living room includes: • a dining area and a fitted kitchen; • A pool table, for a few games with family or friends; • A small cabin bedroom with a 160 cm double bed; • a bathroom with shower and toilet. ON THE SECOND FLOOR You'll find a relaxation area with a TV serving: • A first bedroom with a 160 cm double bed, which can be prepared as two 80 cm single beds according to your needs; • A master suite with a 160 cm double bed and an open bathing area with a freestanding bathtub, followed by a shower room with a sink and a toilet. THINGS TO KNOW La Maîtrise is a truly old house: its charm also lies in its original architecture. The stone spiral staircase is relatively narrow and serves all floors. Unfortunately, the house is therefore not suitable for people with reduced mobility or who have significant difficulty using stairs. TO ENJOY YOUR STAY EVEN MORE We can also offer you the following, by reservation and at extra cost: 🥐 Breakfasts, prepared and delivered directly to the house; 🧀 Appetizer or dinner platters, prepared mainly with local products, for your arrival evening or for a quiet evening at home; 🚐 Starting in April 2027, a private chauffeur service for your transfers (train station, airport, restaurants, etc.) or your days exploring the region: the D-Day landing beaches, Mont Saint-Michel, Saint-Malo, Honfleur, Deauville, etc. Please don't hesitate to contact us to find out about the various packages available. Guest access The house is independent and fully accessible. Other things to note Pets are not allowed unless expressly requested (depending on size). It is recommended to accompany young children up and down the stairs serving the levels of the house, as it is narrow and steep. Not recommended for people with reduced mobility.
