This exquisite cabin was designed by one of the leading modernist architects of our time, Ron Radziner, and is the ideal locale for a romantic escape or solo retreat. Modernist Cabin is on 5 acres surrounded by boulders, adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park. It seamlessly combines luxury w/ mid-century design and has been featured on the cover of the LA Times Home Section and in many books and magazines. A stay here is like staying inside the park, with unparalleled 360 degree desert vistas. From the outdoor living area, guests can walk directly into the park or gaze upon it from the comfort of the modern outdoor bathtub. The wind protected, exquisite outdoor shower has spectacular views of the surrounding boulders as well as the multitude of private hikes available to our guests. Large windows and white terrazzo tile inside and out, create a bright, inviting space with curated Mid-Century furnishings. -Most Unique Joshua Tree Airbnb Vacation Rentals for Nature Lovers- "With some of the best hiking in California just out your front door and humble accommodations that will have you grounding yourself in more ways than one, this casita is precisely the kind of place we’d like to call home.” - Field Magazine HIGHLIGHTS ► 1 Bedroom; full size mattress ► 1 Full bathroom; outdoor shower with awe-inspiring ► 2 Person outdoor bathtub w/ hot + cold fresh water (not a traditional hot tub) ► 5 private acres with enormous boulders + 360-degree views ► Fully equipped kitchen; modern appliances with Jenn Air stove & propane BBQ ► Covered, outdoor living room with vintage Malm gas fireplace ► EV Charger ► High-speed WiFi for remote work + entertainment ► Best Designed Joshua Tree Vacation Rental by Field Magazine ► Designed by acclaimed architect, Ron Radziner ► Adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park with direct hiking access ► Professionally hosted by Homestead Modern™ All Homestead Modern Homes include: - Full-time, local support team - Locally roasted coffee & pantry essentials - Parachute towels & linens and Public Goods natural body products - Concierge-like support to help you unplug, unwind, & engage with the High Desert Learn more @HomesteadModern Here Are a Few Kind Words From Our Recent Guests: -”Booked this cabin last minute and I’m so glad I did. Perfect amount of privacy while not feeling too far from restaurants/stores.” -Joel -”This was the best airbnb stay my husband and I have ever experienced. Extras include a kettle, a drip coffee maker, a French press, a blender, and toaster. Whip up a quick breakfast before a hike or cook a romantic dinner to enjoy as the sun sets. Inside, the dining table seats 4, and there’s a breakfast bar with 2 stools. Or, opt for al fresco dining - the outdoor table is on the patio behind the house. We are strong supporters of the local economy, providing locally roasted coffee and allowing local artists to display their work on the walls. -OUTDOOR SPACE- The patio behind the house includes a rare Chromcraft dining set and on the covered, outdoor patio, a vintage Malm capsule fireplace and two custom, curvaceous sofas for comfortable lounging. Grill up something delicious on the propane barbecue, or take a refreshing dip in the outdoor hot or cold tub. From the house, you’re within walking distance of the Park, which offers endless trails and scenery. -DESIGN- Famed architect Ron Radziner established the architectural design firm, Marmol Radziner and Associates, with Leo Marmol in Venice in 1989. By 2014, Radziner had worked on restoration projects originally designed by architects like Cliff May, John Lautner, and E. Stewart Williams. The firm also completed the restoration of Neutra's Kronish House in Beverly Hills that year. Over the course of his career, Radziner had helped design homes for clients like Tom Ford and Bradley Cooper and was honored as an inductee of the Interior Design Hall of Fame in 2009. -ESSENTIALS- The cabin has WiFi, heating, and air conditioning, plus parking for 2 vehicles. Because of the remote location, please note that the WiFi is typically very strong, but can be a bit slower in difficult weather. -ACTIVITIES/ATTRACTIONS- Visitors come to the High Desert for its unique landscape, culture, and recreational opportunities, as well as for the weather - hot and dry summers and mild winters at our high altitude. Joshua Tree and the communities surrounding the Joshua Tree National Park include Flamingo Heights, Pioneertown, Morongo Valley, Yucca Valley, and Landers. You’ll be close to all the action at Marmol Radziner's Modernist Cabin. Some of our favorite options available to you: –Joshua Tree National Park: 800,000 acres of mystical beauty - Joshua Tree National Park is one of the world’s most incredible natural desert treasures. Sweeping, grand in scale and populated by granite monoliths and voluptuous rock and boulder formations. This quiet land, conducive to meditation and roaming, was carved by extremes in climate - wind, rain and an ever-present, relentless sun. Diverse forms of plant life are found everywhere, but none as unique or prevalent as the park’s namesake: the Joshua tree, standing majestically across the vast topography. –Pioneertown: Step back in time to thus rustic Old West-style village. Wander through the historic buildings, visit unique shops, catch a live music performance at Pappy & Harriets, and experience the Wild West charm. • The Integratron: New age-y healing destination with a sound bath, originally designed by ufologist George Van Tassel with the goal of reversing the aging process. Everything at your fingertips and more, when you book with us today! Cleaning Protocols As the only professional management company in the area, we have always maintained exceptional cleaning standards. We pay above the living wage standards; 100% of your cleaning fee is paid to the cleaners (i.e. no profit to us) and we insist on a professional level of cleaning between guests. We love the High Desert for a lot of reasons - including the open spaces, lack of crowds, and dry weather that we believe make it a safe place to visit. You will have the entire house and property to yourself. Our property manager, Homestead Modern, is local and has staff available at all times. This area is renowned for its forever vistas of the Mojave Desert and its proximity to the national park. The quiet neighborhood offers a tranquil vibe and big, open skies, so you’ll feel like you’re miles away from it all, but plenty of restaurants and things to do are within a short drive. When you’re ready to hike, bike, or climb, Joshua Tree National Park’s West Entrance is a 13-minute drive away. You can find great eats, drinks, shops, and things to do in nearby Joshua Tree Village; here are a few recommendations: • Start your day at Joshua Tree Coffee Co., known for their famed coffee made from locally roasted beans (6-minute drive) • Marvel at the handiwork at the World Famous Crochet Museum (5-minute drive) • Pick up some lunch or a souvenir from the Joshua Tree Certified Farmers' Market, open Saturdays (8-minute drive) • Find your next favorite read at Space Cowboy Books (7-minute drive) • Perhaps close your day with the food, drinks and music offered at the rustic Joshua Tree Saloon (7-minute drive) Up for a day trip? Don’t miss these area highlights - they’re worth the drive. • Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum (15-minute drive) - As far from a stuffy gallery as you can imagine, this outdoor sculpture garden contains a unique collection of folk-art. • Pioneertown (20-minute drive) - Put on your ten-gallon hat and stroll down Mane Street of this Wild West-inspired town, also known for Pappy & Harriet’s, a notable restaurant and venue. • The Integratron (25-minute drive) - New age-y healing destination with a sound bath, originally designed by ufologist George Van Tassel with the goal of reversing the aging process. • Palm Springs (45-minute drive) - Artsy town known for vintage shopping, art galleries, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. • Mt. San Jacinto State Park (90-minute drive) - Expansive, hilly landscape with foot and horseback trails surrounding 10,834-foot Mount San Jacinto. Of course, let’s not forget about the essentials. Everything you need is within close driving distance: • Closest supermarket: Vons (15-minute drive) • Closest liquor store: Mike's Liquor (7-minute drive) • Closest pharmacy: Star Pharmacy (9-minute drive) • Closest bank: U.S. Bank (14-minute drive) • Closest gas station: 76 (7-minute drive) Many roads in the high desert are dirt, so please take it slow. While a car is required to get around, a four wheel drive car is not, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain. • EVENTS & COMMERCIAL PHOTOSHOOTS: Are not permitted without prior approval, applicable permit and additional fees. • DOGS: Pets are not permitted. • SOCIAL MEDIA: If you plan on sharing your experience on social media, please mention us! • CELL SERVICE: Cell phone service availability and quality in the high desert varies by service provider. This is particularly true in the more remote areas of Joshua Tree, Pipes Canyon, and Pioneertown. Please be prepared by enabling wifi calling or downloading a VOIP program. • ROAD CONDITIONS: Many roads are dirt, so please take it slow. A four wheel drive car is not required, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain • CO-HOSTED BY HOMESTEAD MODERN
