As you enter through the underpass onto the farm your little cabin is nestled on the grassy hillside overlooking the dam, mountains and train line. As they have done for the past 130 years the trains toot to herald their arrival to town. You have now entered your own little piece of paradise to relax and enjoy. A short stroll to town along a quiet, shady road will bring you to the village of Cooran with a coffee shop, general store, restaurant & brewery. The space A self contained one bedroom cabin set on what was once part of the large family cattle property. The cabin includes: - One bedroom with king size bed, luxury flax bedlinen and closet. - Large bathroom with rain shower and organic toiletries provided. - Outdoor claw foot bath. - Fully screened. - Open plan living space with kitchen, lounge and dining area. - Wide verandahs on three sides - Well equipped kitchen with ceramic cooktop and bbq on verandah. - Smart screen tv and wifi. Netflix available. - Air conditioned. - Complimentary breakfast hamper in fridge for your arrival day which includes bacon, eggs, juice, fruit and bread. - Complimentary tea, coffee and essential cooking supplies. - Firepit and wood provided. - Picnic hamper, picnic rug, torch and blankets for around the fire. - No smoking indoors. Guest access Upon arrival a key safe is located on the left hand side of the door as you enter. A code will be provided before arrival. Inside you will find a compendium with details of information about the cabin, your wifi code and places of interest. Your cabin is fully fenced with your own entrance and plenty of room for parking. You are welcome to stroll down to the dam. Often horses will be grazing outside your cabin fence. The farm has an abundance of wildlife including birds, kangaroos and wallabies which is why we unfortunately cannot allow dogs. Other things to note Cowboy Cabin is cradled between 3 Mountains (Mt Cooroora, Cooran and Pinbarren) with views of the Tableland. It is a place of rich history and memories from the days of aboriginal settlement to the arrival of the Cobb and Co coaches. A plaque stands at the end of the gravel road to mark where the coach used to stop and water the horses in the lagoon. In 1889 the railway line opened from Cooran to the Gympie Goldfields and later the rail continued on to Brisbane. Cooran was a busy centre for goods, livestock and produce. As was the case in the 1880's the main rail line continues to run through the town and passes by Cowboy Cabin. More interesting history of the area can be found at the Pomona Museum. Before white settlement the Kabi Kabi called this place theirs. Cooran or Guran comes from the aboriginal word meaning high up or tall. The Noosa Trail Network is at your doorstep for the adventurous. ***** Horse Owners are welcome to bring their horses. Maximum 2 Horses - $50 per day. ***** Please enquire. A small fully fenced paddock with horse sight wire is provided beside the Cowboy Cabin. Plenty of room for horse float Parking and easy turn around facilities.
