"Dorothy" is moored in a private garden at the confluence of The River Brent & Grand Union Canal. Just a 2 min walk from The Fox Pub there are 11 parks, a zoo, award-winning micropub, chip shop, and all the amenities of Hanwell on the doorstep. One of The Times "best places to live”Hanwell has easy access to Central London via the new Elizabeth line, Piccadilly & Central lines. Dorothy has central heating, a log burner, TV, Wi-Fi, kitchen, shower, 2 loos, 2 comfy double beds & a seating area The space Dorothy is a large, beautifully refurbished (69ft) narrowboat with all mod-cons and Wi-Fi. For year-round comfort Dorothy is fully kitted out with radiators and a log burner (instructions for use are on-board. The log burner uses Kiln-dried wood only, you can purchase this from us should you wish). She’s super cosy in the winter, and with wall-mounted bedroom fans she’s also cool on the warm summer nights. She is hooked-up to shore-power mains electricity so you can plug in phones or computers etc. Her layout: You enter Dorothy at the stern (where there is a outdoor seating bench) down some steps to bedroom no1 (small double bed), then to bathroom no1 (toilet, sink and shower), followed by bedroom no2 (small double bed) and a further bathroom (toilet and sink). Doors can separate the bedrooms for added privacy. Beyond this Dorothy has a comfortable seating and dining area with a log burner and 32’’ television with Freeview as well as Netflix / Prime etc. There is also an extensive library of over 500 DVDs and a selection of board games to round off the on-board entertainment. Beyond the seating area is a fully equipped kitchen which includes a hob, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment, toaster, kettle, sink and work surfaces. At the front of the boat there is an outdoor seating area under a Weeping Birch where you can sit and watch the river flow by, not to mention our currently nesting coot! We also regularly get a visit from ducks, swans and their goslings. Dorothy is famous! You may have seen Dorothy before as she was the star of the ITV 2/Hulu comedy “Zomboat”. Don’t worry we cleaned up the fake blood! Please remember this is boat life, living space is cosy but comfortable. Any questions please ask, we want you to enjoy your stay.
