Completely renovated in Feb 2022. Feel like a DC resident instead of a tourist in a basement suite with separate entrance & HVAC & covered off-street parking space. The suite has a kitchenette and sleeps four between a queen size bed and couch that pulls out into a full size bed. You also have a dining are, full bathroom, and washer/dyer. Take advantage of the free DC Streetcar to ride to Union Station and all the exciting dining and drinking destinations on H Street NE. The space Let this be your launchpad to a fabulous trip to the nation's capitol in our new and improved space! Completed renovated in February 2022 to include new flooring, paint, lighting and a kitchenette. You have your own separate entrance and private covered parking space. The parking space fits a normal size car but if you have something larger I can arrange street parking for you. Enjoy a newly renovated bathroom, couch and television, and queen size bed. The couch pulls out to a full-size bed allowing us to accommodate a maximum of four guest. We provide a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee machine along with complimentary coffee and tea in the kitchenette. Please note there is no oven or stove. There is also access to a full washer and dryer. We live on the top two floors of the house so if you are sensitive to noise, this listing may not be for you as you will hear walking, my dog barking, and other sounds such as the television. We do exercise care to be quiet when we have guests but sound tends to travel in older houses. You will have your own private and separate space. I lock the door to the basement suite during your stay and there is a lock on your own side as well. Please also consider whether the location is suitable for your stay. We are close to sites via public transportation/car but not right in the action (and priced accordingly!). I'm located in Kingman Park, a residential area within a mile of bustling H Street NE for dining; two miles from Union Station and the Capitol; two miles from the historic Eastern Market district with shops, restaurants, and a charming weekend market; and four miles to the White House/downtown. Guest access You will have full and exclusive access to a basement guest suite that sleeps four on a queen bed and full size pull-out sofa. The suite also has a full bathroom, a kitchenette, dining table, and washer and dryer. Other things to note I love my house and neighborhood and strive to offer guests a great value for their stay. I chose to live here after many years in DC and a long housing search. But I know the location and house aren't for everyone so here are some important things to know about the space to help you decide if it is right for you. First of all, this is my home and it's an old house. I live above the basement and I strive to be quiet when we have Airbnb guests. I installed some soundproofing measures during a December 2019 renovation. But you will still hear walking on the floors, talking, watching tv, and occasional dog barks from my pup Wilber. Lastly, the neighborhood is gentrifying; it's very diverse and has a variety of cultures which we love! It's safe (children, families, and retirees along with police officers) live on our street but it's the city so exercise reasonable caution when walking around at night. Please also note that we are close to attractions but they do require some travel time. Lastly, this is my home. Please treat it with the respect that you would treat your own living space. I ask that you don't smoke or do drugs anywhere on the property, including the back yard. Registration details Hosted Licence: 5007242201000773
