Looking for a quiet, romantic getaway? Our updated cabin with water view is close to the Bremerton ferry terminal and located in quiet Illahee. Enjoy the peace and tranquility with that special someone or just take time to reflect and recharge or enjoy a creative writing retreat. Short driving distance to the Illahee port and Illahee state park. Wake to views of Port Orchard Bay and take in the views while enjoying coffee on the deck or at the dining table. The space Thank you for your interest in the Illahee cabin. If you are looking for a cozy retreat to rest, relax, and rejuvenate this is the place for you. Close to downtown Bremerton and Silverdale, yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle to relax. Access to the auto and fast ferry is about a 15 minute drive and access to the Illahee state park is about 5-7 minutes. Fred Meyer and Safeway are a short drive away; Sprouts and Trader Joe's are a bit farther and located in Silverdale. Location: Please note that this home is not located within walking distance to restaurants or stores or public transportation. It is located within a quiet residential area with water views and though there are walking curbs there are no sidewalks if this is important to you. This fully refurbished cabin has one bedroom, one full bath, a washer and dryer, dishwasher, electric stove, and wood burning fireplace insert. There are plenty of extra blankets, towels, and everything you need to cook your meals. There is internet access available via hotspot, a smart tv; a DVD collection and dvds, local hiking books; fans (no a/c); and room heaters along with electric heat. The outdoor back patio includes a table with chairs and a grill. The front deck has a small table with chairs for enjoying your morning coffee or relaxing. NOTE: Since the home is an older cabin (1920), the doorways are much smaller than current day standards - just a heads up for taller guests :). My husband is 6' 2" and it's not an issue as the rooms have high ceilings. For those with mobility issues, please note that there are a couple of steps that lead up to the bedroom from the main area. In addition there are a set of stairs from the road leading up to another set of stairs to access the deck and front entrance. During the rehab we retained as much of the original wood floors, walls, and ceilings to retain the original cabin feel. You truly feel transported in time with access to all of the modern amenities. The best option for beach access is Illahee State Park just up the street. There is a $10 day pass fee if you don't have an annual pass. Here you can park, walk the beach, access trails, and there are bathrooms onsite. The drive-in parking garage is intended for a small to medium sized vehicle. My Pathfinder fits fine. Please note that you should take care entering and exiting the garage as it is a bit narrow, but as mentioned my Pathfinder fits fine. The home is intended for one vehicle, though a small car would fit in front of the home, but it requires pulling up on the curb and parking on gravel - do not recommend. Parking is not available on the side of the house or across the street as the property belongs to the neighbors. Please note that the cabin is intended for two guests only. Extra guests are not allowed. Guest access The entire home is accessible by guests. Please note pets are not accepted. Other things to note Please note pets are not accepted. Important: Location - please note that there are not restaurants or stores within walking distance and the area does not have sidewalks. There are steps leading up to the deck and front entrance and several steps inside that lead to the bedroom.
