A stylish Arts and Crafts cottage with a private garden in the centre of Parkgate, a Georgian village on the edge of the Dee Estuary in Cheshire / Wirral. Parkgate's stunning views across the estuary to the hills of North Wales and the great walking and cycling routes along the coast make this is a great area to explore. The Dee Estuary is an RSPB reserve and is popular with bird watchers. The historic cities of Chester and Liverpool are each 12 miles away and are worth a visit. The space The house is an end of terrace cottage built in the Arts and Crafts style just after World War 1 in 1920. Situated up one of the small private lanes leading off The Parade in Parkgate it is a quiet, peaceful place to stay but within easy walking distance of the many pubs and restaurants along the Parade. It is surrounded by a beautiful private garden on 3 sides. The house has been recently renovated, successfully blending contemporary living with traditional features and authentic Arts and Crafts furniture. Downstairs there is a cosy sitting room (includes a desk) and a bright fully fitted kitchen / laundry with a back door leading out to the garden and patio area. Upstairs there are three bedrooms: a king size bedroom, a double bedroom and a single bedroom. The bathroom has a large shower and a separate toilet. The garden is beautiful and surrounds the house on 3 sides. At the back there is a patio area with table and chairs for outside dining. The rest of the garden is a peaceful private space with a large flowering cherry tree, mature acers, climbing wisteria and a large holly bush teeming with garden birds and other wildlife. Guest access Guests have access to the cottage and garden with no restrictions. Note that there is one dedicated parking space for the property - all remaining spaces in the private lane are allocated to the other houses. The parking space is suitable for small or medium sized cars. Larger vehicles will fit but might take some manoeuvring. There is additional free unrestricted parking on The Parade (3 minutes walk away). Note also that the cottage is situated on an unadopted lane with some uneven surfaces / sections. Other things to note Dogs are welcome to stay but we do ask that you follow our guidelines to minimise allergen risks for other guests: 1) please use the covers provided to protect any chairs and sofas the dogs use. 2) dogs are not allowed on the beds. 3) dogs should not be left unsupervised in the house. 4) all dog waste must be picked up and disposed of in the bin provided. Note that Parkgate is a quiet, peaceful neighbourhood and the cottage is surrounded by local residents. Noise travels easily, particularly at night after 10 when the village is quiet. The cottage is not suitable for parties or late night socialising.
