This romantic A-frame retreat sits on the edge of the forest, offering a peaceful, design-forward escape with private trail access directly from the back door. Designed by a boutique NYC design firm for couples and quiet getaways, the home blends warmth, comfort, and immersive nature in a setting that feels both secluded and intentional. Inside, the A-frame is cozy, light-filled, and inviting, with natural materials, warm wood tones, and carefully chosen details throughout. The living space is designed for slowing down—whether you’re reading by the fire, cooking a shared meal, or enjoying long, quiet mornings surrounded by trees. Step outside and you’re immediately connected to the landscape. A private forest trail begins just beyond the back door, perfect for morning walks, snowshoeing, or wandering at golden hour. Evenings are best spent around the outdoor fire pit, stargazing and soaking in the stillness that makes this forest retreat so special. The bedroom is designed for deep rest, featuring a Nest mattress with organic cotton sheets and a calm, cabin-like feel that guests consistently mention in reviews. The kitchen is well equipped for real cooking, and the dining area is ideal for lingering dinners after a day outdoors. Located near Woodland Park and within easy reach of hiking, fishing, scenic drives, and mountain adventures, this A-frame works beautifully as a romantic couples retreat, a solo reset, or a creative escape. Whether you’re here to explore the outdoors or unplug completely, this space offers privacy, beauty, and a true sense of retreat. Guest access Kitchen + Dining The kitchen is well equipped for real cooking—whether you’re preparing a full meal or just enjoying morning coffee. Amenities include a mini fridge with freezer, electric range and oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, blender, mixer, waffle maker, and a gas grill with tools on the deck. You’ll find quality cookware including pots and pans, two cast-iron skillets, bakeware, knives, cutting boards, mixing bowls, measuring tools, and a full set of cooking utensils. Dishware includes plates, bowls, serving dishes, silverware, coffee mugs, wine glasses, and water glasses. A dining table, eat-in bar with stools, and outdoor seating make it easy to enjoy meals indoors or out. Living Area The living area is light-filled and cozy, with expansive front windows showcasing mountain views and Turkey Rock. Relax on the comfortable leather sofa, warm up by the wood-burning stove, or enjoy music on the Bluetooth speaker. Extra throw blankets add to the cabin comfort. A small reading nook by the front window includes a chair, side table, and books—perfect for slow mornings. You’ll also find board games, puzzles, picnic supplies, yoga mats, a fabric steamer, and thoughtful extras for your stay. Sliding doors open to the large front deck overlooking the mountains and surrounding ranch land. Bedroom (Loft) The cozy loft bedroom features a queen bed with a brand-new, high-quality mattress, premium bedding, fresh linens, and plenty of pillows for restful sleep. Two nightstands with lamps, a 32-inch Roku TV (log into your own streaming apps), a dresser, luggage rack, full-length mirror, and hanging space complete the room. Bathroom The sparkling clean bathroom includes a vanity with sink and mirror and an updated shower with subway tile surround. Fresh bath towels, washcloths, and makeup towels are provided, along with spa-quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, cotton swabs, cotton balls, a hair dryer, and extra toilet paper. Outdoors Enjoy multiple outdoor spaces designed for relaxing and soaking in the scenery. The large front deck offers patio seating, an umbrella, bench seating, and sweeping views of Turkey Rock and the mountains. A gas grill is available for outdoor cooking. Just beyond the cabin, unwind at the wood-burning fire pit with chairs, enjoy meals at the picnic table tucked among the trees, or relax on the rocking bench nearby. From your doorstep, access the Ridge Loop Trail, a scenic ¾-mile hike through national forest leading to a ridge with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape—and on clear days, views stretching as far as Pikes Peak. Parking Driveway parking is available for up to two vehicles next to the cabin. Guest Access Guests enjoy exclusive access to the entire cabin, front porch, rear deck, fire-pit area, picnic table, and driveway parking. The cabin sits on the edge of miles of national forest, allowing you to hike, wander, and explore directly from the property. Other things to note EARLY CHECK IN AND LATE CHECK OUT REQUESTS: Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 10am. Due to the remoteness of the property, our cleaner's schedule, and the fact that we cannot predict how previous guests will have used the property, we cannot offer early check in or late check out at this property. That said, we do let guests know as soon as the property is ready for check in and this property is often ready well before 4pm. Due to the fact that the property is remote and our cleaner will be have to be paid for time waiting at the property if a guest checks out late, we charge $1/minute for late check outs which begins to accrue at 10:15am. Please help us respect our cleaner's time and schedule by checking out on time. WIFI AND RECEPTION: There is no cell reception at the property so all calls are via WIFI. The wireless provider is point to point rural service and can be knocked out temporarily in storms. It is strong enough for streaming and working but it can be inconsistent. It is the only available internet in this location. We think being disconnected from time to time is charming but we know that is not the case for everyone. We do not offer refunds for lapse in WIFI during your stay. SMOKING: Smoking in accordance with Colorado law is permitted outside. There is no smoking anything (tobacco, marijuana, vaping) inside the home - loss of security deposit and a $500 fine will be incurred for any violation. WINTER: The home is open and accessible year round, but the last few miles are via dirt roads that are typically well maintained by the county and plowed after snow. However, please make sure you are traveling in an appropriate vehicle, we recommend 4-wheel drive, especially in the wintertime. STAIRS: Due to a steep set of stairs leading up to the loft, this home may not be appropriate for children or those with mobility issues. We may make exceptions for older children, but please message us ahead of time to see if an exception may be granted. FIRE RESTRICTIONS: This cabin sits at the edge of Pikes Peak National Forest. Wild fires are common in Colorado, so we require all guests to check local fire restrictions before using the fire pit and grill. We require that local fire restrictions are honored out of safety for our guests, the forest and nearby wildlife. Violation of this rule may result in immediate termination of your reservation.
