Bed and breakfast in Alma
Description
This house is a historic 140 year old Victorian hotel that is full of stories from the earliest days of Alma, once a booming mining town, through hippie parties and back-country adventures. There are photos and pictures and artifacts everywhere in the house to help bring the history to life! The house is also a close drive to Summit County's skiing and shops, and a hop skip and a jump from the quieter, slightly wilder adventures on this side of the continental divide. The space Presently three rooms available in happy cabbage friendly household. This room comfortably sleeps two on a queen bed. The house is perfect for outdoor adventurer types, looking to ski, board, snowshoe, XC ski and come back to a great house in a little town of 250 people. The real mountains in the real west! This is a larger room, up its own private staircase in the back of the house. It is lovely and sunny, and great for a quiet respite from your mountain adventures. Guest access All guests share access to kitchen and bathrooms, the entertainment room and TV, parlor, library with books, maps, topos, guide books, computer and printer, and some ski tuning gear available for quick fixes. Fellow guests have lots of knowledge of local areas, trails, back-country and cool things to do in the local scene. During your stay We have a huge kitchen and guests cook in the house every day, so there's lots of opportunity for interaction and interesting conversations. I'm in the house from time to time, and have lived in the area since I was a kid in the 70's. The day to day needs of the house and its short-term guests are overseen by Delia and Nancy, who can answer any questions or address any needs as they come up. Other things to note Herb use accepted with discretion (what happened to that?) Cigarettes are tolerated if you smoke outside. We have a couple pairs of snowshoes and poles your can borrow as needed, and lots of extra outdoor gear and packs.
