Cottage in Wellington

Great place for an unplugged getaway! One bedroom has a double sized bed suitable for two people, and the living room has a pullout couch where two more can sleep. Full kitchen includes dishes, silverware, cookware, stove, fridge, table and chairs. Eat on the back deck if you prefer with a lovely view of the woods behind the house. This house does not include an inside bathroom but does have an outhouse and an outdoor shower with hot water included. Borders the Daniel Boone National Forest. The space Great area to come for hiking and rock climbing! The Daniel Boone National Forest borders the yard on two sides and the next driveway down on the right will take you through the woods of the Daniel Boone National Forest to plenty of natural beauty! The geology of this forest is the same as the that of the Red River Gorge. (Bring the bugspray and watch out for poison ivy!) This home is 8 miles from Longbow Marina on Cave Run Lake. This location is also about a 45 minute drive to the Red River Gorge. If you prefer to enjoy some low key quiet time and sit on the covered front porch and watch the sunset or nap in the hammock out back those are great options as well. There is an Ac window unit that can be used in the bedroom or the kitchen. Guest access Enjoy the covered porch with a cup of coffee and have dinner on the back deck. There is a shed on the property that is off limits but we highly recommend using the outhouse until we get a septic tank on the property. TV does not have cable but can be used to watch dvds. Other things to note Frenchburg is the closest town to drive to for groceries. There are a couple of restaurants there. Other places to take a drive or go out for dinner would be Morehead, Miguel’s Pizza near the RRG or Mt. Sterling. There is a Dollar General nearby for last minute needs as well.
