Step back in time with this 104-year-old fully restored farmhouse with three bedrooms & two baths with many of the original fixtures in it. Relax on the wraparound screen porch in front or one outside the kitchen. Back door opens onto a deck overlooking ponds, fields, forest and deer in evenings. The Calvert Homestead is a small farm located in Historic Southern Maryland, The Land of Pleasant Living. For a getaway where memories are important, I am proud to offer our restored 104-year-old Historic farmhouse, located within a gracious, charming and tranquil setting. Great place if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful relaxing get away from traffic & noise in a rural setting. No next-door neighbors to disturb you or streetlights. Our neighborhood hasn't changed much since the house was built. Whether visiting family or friends, attending a wedding or any celebration, a get a way or looking for a place to work you won't be disappointed. For a romantic time away or getting ready for a wedding or night after before leaving on your honeymoon a catered breakfast or dinner can be arranged with local caterer. Looking for homey place to spend your holidays? House built 1920 so rooms are cozy but there are lots of nooks & crannies for everyone to find their own space to relax or work. There are some older board games available around house. Step back in time, The L-shaped house is a two story with a hip roof and three bedrooms with two bathrooms built in 1920. Farmhouse has many of the original items in it, hardwood floors, mantels, trim, staircase, lights, doors, windows shutters, and many more. There is even a closet that has been left with the horsehair plaster & lathes to show how the entire house was built. If you are so inclined Barbara will be happy to tell you about the history of the house & Simmons family or you can read about them in the book at the house...there are pictures of what the house looked like before restorations began. Guests may relax on the inviting wrap-around screened porch in front or on another which is outside the kitchen. The back door opens onto a spacious deck overlooking ponds, fields, and forest. Lovely place for eating crabs or meals. Bring your binoculars for a better look at the Deers. The site is surrounded by numerous flower gardens and lovely old tees, providing plenty of shade. Amazing sunrises & sunsets can be enjoyed from both porches/deck. Listen to the tree frogs at night & birds in the morning. There is a Labyrinth for your use on the property. Ample parking & Easy access into the side of house via ramp. There is central air & heat but nothing like opening the windows & doors for the southerly exposure of fresh air to delight you. Close to the county’s Beaches, Bay and River. Hiking trails, Parks, Museums, wineries, breweries, distillers, restaurants & festivals. Short drive to Solomon’s Island, Chesapeake & North Beach in Calvert County. Don’t forget the local farm stands for fresh produce, crabs & fish in season. Flag Ponds + beach, Calvert Cliff Park + beach for shark teeth hunting ACLT trails for hiking or walking Breezy Point Park Hollowing Point Park right on Patuxent River. Great place to launch Kayaks. Point Lookout State Park + beach Within driving to many locations outside of the county for day trips to St. Mary’s County, Deale, Annapolis, Baltimore & Amish area in Charles County for produce, cheese & baked goods. As this is a farm, in the country, be aware that bugs & insects live here also. Despite my best efforts to keep them out of the farmhouse, it is still possible for them to come in, nature will always win.
