'The Loft' at Ash Beacon - A completely self-contained, peaceful contemporary hideaway, surrounded by nature, set in beautiful grounds on the side of Beacon Hill in Devon, near border with Dorset. 2 bedrooms, shower room, open plan living & kitchen area, with log burner, own private sunny garden, raised fort/sun-deck, access to private paddock, woodlands, stream and lake. Situated close to the Jurassic Coast delights of Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Beer, Sidmouth etc ...but you may not want to leave! The space The Loft is a brand-newly converted purpose built holiday let, above our quiet, car-free, garage, completely separate from the main house, with your own private parking, secluded exclusive private garden, 'fort' or 'sun deck' (depending on your mental age). Views to the top of Beacon Hill and all the nature that passes by. Exclusive guest access to much of our grounds including paddock, woodlands, lake and stream. Spacious, modern open-plan Living Room and Kitchen area, with family sized dining table. One Double Bedroom with king size bed, and a Twin Single Bedroom where beds can be pushed together to make a superking if preferred. New Emma mattresses throughout. Beautiful real oak floors and paneling. Brand new shower room with great mains-pressure shower, toilet and basin. Guest access The Loft and its private garden and grounds are all yours to enjoy exclusively. You can find your key in the lock-box (combination supplied on check-in - please lock it back in there on check-out) and from that point on the whole place is yours. We won't bother you, but we're usually around if you need us for anything. You can also explore the acres of beautiful, peaceful and nature-rich grounds, except for a few areas which we keep as our private garden space. If kids want to camp in the grounds while parents live in luxury, then we can point you in the direction of the best spots, so do bring outdoor adventure gear too if that takes your fancy... and if the nights get cold then they'll know the cosy Loft is waiting just up the driveway. Other things to note Although the grounds are very pretty and you're welcome to explore them, we can't possibly cover all the health and safety issues that arise from things like the lake, the stream, and some of the rougher terrain, so please make sure little ones are fully supervised in case they decide to crawl down a badger hole or climb a rotting tree etc. Swimming in the lake is not permitted as the water flows very slowly through and, although it's a real haven for wildlife, you wouldn't want to pick up anything nasty from it. Paddling and building dams in the stream is a safer bet, although waterproof footwear is advised due to the sharp stones in there. We have listed The Loft as providing an EV charger - please note that it is currently a standard socket (granny charger) and not a dedicated Level 2 charger. We are still waiting for the Type 2 charger which goes with our solar system to be available in the UK - release has been delayed to later in 2026. So although you can plug straight in whenever you are here, please check that you are happy with this type of charger (ezgogo) before you book.
