Quiet room in the heart of Westchester
Please make sure to read all the details regarding this listing before you make your inquiry. Close to major roads. Forty minutes from Manhattan. Residential neighborhood. My husband and I are University Professors with two grown sons. We love to travel and welcome travelers on the road for pleasure or business. The space Second floor room with a twin bed, desk, chair, closet, Wi-Fi. Shared bathroom on the first floor. Guest access Use of the washing machine and kitchen are for reservations of 1 week or longer but exceptions can be made. Guests are welcome to share the outdoor space and the living areas. During your stay We enjoy hosting for the interaction it offers with people from all walks of life but we also respect privacy if so desired. We are glad to help any way we can if needed. Other things to note I do not charge cleaning fee because I think it's unfair for single nights or few but for long stays I charge a bit more for the biweekly cleaning lady and for the wear and tear and occasional breakage. We are early riser (5am) and early sleepers. Quiet hour after 9 pm is greatly appreciated. Check in and check out are flexible but based on our work schedule so, early check in (before 3pm) or late (after 9pm) and/or late check out (after 10am) may be possible but may also be not. Before making a reservation please let us know your plans and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs but if we can't we'll be honest about it. The house is at the bottom of a downhill driveway and there is plenty of parking. In winter it may be difficult to drive up so we suggest to park on the street on the left side of the driveway looking at the house. We don't charge for cleaning so keep in mind that unless you clean after yourself your hosts will be doing the cleaning. We have a cleaning lady coming every other Monday and in between we all do our part. Often guests mistake Airbnb for a hotel and expect service. For us is sharing our home and while we love to welcome strangers in our private space and make sure they have all they need, we also expect them to respect the house like they would with their own. We are very environmentally conscientious to a fault and avoid waste of any kind. Please turn lights off when not in use, be mindful with water consumption when washing dishes or by taking short showers. We air dry clothes recycle and compost and thermostats are kept below (for heat) or above (for AC) the average recommended settings so if you like to be hot in winter and cold in summer maybe our home is not for you. In summer we prefer to use fans and turn AC on just in extreme conditions
