About the Mosquito Brook Getaway The Mosquito Brook Getaway is situated in the gateway to Northwoods fun. Located just 5 miles north of Hayward, on the iconic Mosquito Brook Rd, outdoor fun can be had in every direction. If you enjoy motorized recreation on your ATV, UTV, or snowmobile, trail access and ample parking for your party can be had. If you enjoy silent sports, you will likely recognize the Mosquito Brook access point as one of the milestones road crossings of your events. When you arrive, you will be greeted by its charming front porch from which friends can enjoy a warm cup of coffee in the morning, or watch the sun go down in the evening. Through the front door you will find an open and airy living space complete with its original hardwood floors in the spacious dining and living room. Get comfortable on the couch and watch a movie on the 55” ROKU smart TV or drop one of the provided movies into the DVD player. A fully equipped kitchen with new appliances will serve your indoor culinary needs during your stay. Enjoy informal conversation and a meal around the spacious kitchen Island, or and elegant dinner in the formal dining area. The master bedroom is adorned with a queen-sized bed and direct access to the front porch for an early morning escape to enjoy some quiet time while the rest of the house sleeps in. A workstation in the bedroom provides a quiet place to escape to while staying connected on your stay. Two additional bedrooms with queen beds provide comfortable and quiet spaces for your friends and family. And a queen sized sofa sleeper adds additional sleeping space if needed. Direct and secure outside access to the spacious basement allows you to organize and stow your gear out of the way while you recover from a day enjoying the beauty that the outdoors provides. And a full laundry gives you the opportunity to have a fresh change of clothes for the next day of play. Guests will have access to the entire main floor living space (1300 sq ft), including the main floor laundry is included in the stay. The walk out basement is unfinished, and most of the space is available for use by guests who wish to spread their gear out to dry after a day of play. Bikes can be stored in the basement where they will be secure and dry. We ask that if you need accommodations for waxing skis or other special activities, that you contact us so that we can determine if what you need can be accommodated. Mosquito Brook Road is popular with people who come to the area to enjoy the great outdoors. On a warm sunny morning, bikers and runners will pass by as you enjoy your morning coffee on the porch. Return the wave as they pass by. Access to the trail systems allows for parking your vehicle for the weekend and getting around by bike or ATV or snowmobile. The American Birkebeiner and the CAMBA Mountain Bike Trail System are located within a short walking or riding distance from the front door. Even if you don’t participate in these events, you can cheer your friends on at the Mosquito Brook trail crossing as they participate in the world class skiing and mountain biking events in the area. Hunters and Fisherman have access to thousands of acres of Sawyer County land and numerous lakes. Bring your canoe or kayak and explore the famous Namekagon river located nearby. If you are looking to relax and enjoy a day at the beach, the non-motorized Silverthorn Lake and park is a short distance away. Motorized sports enthusiasts will enjoy this property which includes ample parking space and a U-shaped drive, so you won’t find yourself trying to turn around or back your rigs out of a cramped drive.
