Description
Set alongside our beloved family home, in 7 acres of open farmland, this wonderful space offers a welcome retreat from the stresses of everyday life. Worminghall is predominantly a farming village, within easy vehicular access to Oxford and the market town of Thame. Situated on the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire borders, it's the perfect location if you are visiting for a wedding or function nearby, or simply wish to explore the area's many local attractions. The space Space: the barn sits to the boundary edge of our garden. It is self-contained with it's own entrance, although the garden is shared. On the ground floor, you have a large open-planned reception room (with wood burner and sofa-bed), a dining area with dining for 6 and a small entrance area with a football table. There is Netflix and BT TV and the barn enjoys its own WIFI. Still on the ground floor, there is a small separate kitchen with large fridge/freezer and slimline dishwasher and Nespresso machine. Just off the kitchen is a good sized shower room with utility area with washing machine. We will provide basic provisions for your stay to include teas, coffee, milk, bread, butter, dishwasher tablets and washing powder and softener. The stairs lead up to a large open plan, galleried bedroom, overlooking the reception room. There is a king-size and a single bed. We list the property for two guests as, whilst we have the additional beds, the sleeping areas are not private. If you require use of the sofa or single bed, there will be an additional charge of £25 per bed. This is a strict non smoking property, both inside the barn and on the grounds. Guest access The barn has its own entrance through a 5-bar gate, with a single drive (for the barn's sole use) along the side of our home. Guests will have use of a gravelled patio area, with a table and chairs.. We are fortunate to also own 5 acres of land to the rear of our garden. Sometimes, the local farmer puts his sheep in the middle field, but do feel free to walk through here to the field beyond and if you follow the path around Mark's nature trail, he will be very happy! Other things to note Mud: there are some lovely long walks around the area, so remember to bring your boots. Whilst there are no carpets downstairs in the barn, we would be grateful if you left muddy boots outside. Heating: this is oil fuelled and expensive. We will leave the thermostat set at 20 degrees for your comfort, but from both cost and environmental concerns, we would ask you to turn it off if you go out and not leave windows open whilst the heating is on. Yoga: We are happy to recommend a Yoga teacher, who practices Vinyassa or Yin and will come to the barn for one-to sessions. This is subject to an additional cost, so do get in touch if this interests you and I will send details separately.
