The Carriage House: Garden Apartment

We offer a private apartment located on the first floor of this wonderfully restored 2 unit carriage house, built in the early roarin' 20's! It offers a blend of modern decor and amenities, with more traditional countryside accents. The design, using the original carriage doors in the architecture, allows light to pour through the apartment, while making adjustments for sleeping in easy. This truly unique space is a perfect place to take a weekend to relax, and even enjoy our grounds! The space Step through your private entrance into a light-filled kitchen and living room, where a Roku TV, cooking basics, and complimentary coffee, cereal, and oat milk await. The kitchen flows into a bedroom that doubles as a love letter to Woodstock—complete with a Bob Dylan poster, signed by Milton Glaser who designed the album art, and a remote-controlled fireplace for cozy nights. Design details nod to the carriage house’s roaring-’20s past, with the convenience of today. Guest access Guests enjoy their own private entrance, full access to the Garden Apartment (which occupies the 1st floor of the two story building), and a personal bluestone patio just outside the door. Beyond that, the sprawling 6 acres of grounds are a shared space and include multiple outdoor seating areas, a gas fire pit, games such as outdoor chess, bocce and horseshoes, and open fields—perfect for relaxing and fun. Other things to note The Carriage House was built in the 1920s and reimagined as a two-unit home. We’ve added additional insulation between floors, but some sound from upstairs may still carry—so we have started to provide complimentary earplugs to guarantee a restful night. Between the private apartment, patio, and acres of shared outdoor space, you’ll find both privacy and room to roam. As of Sept 2025, we recently replaced our cookware to improve the guest experience.
